  1. Post one picture of your Lupo, seen some guy do this on a Polo forum and some awesome cars got posted. No comments, please pm "owner" if you need. See if this works.
  2. Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone could help me price up a 2004 Lupo 1.0L I have seen a few online get snapped up for a decent amount even in non-running condition so just wondering what you would all value it at - ideally do not want to scrap! Problems Rear boot catch pushed into - so need to put a bit of pressure on the boot to open (no structural damage) Suspected gear box issue - gears not quite going into action all the time (so would consider underivable currently) Pros: Great interior - little internal wear and tear Great paintwork - no bubbling and still has her shine Only 2 owners - plus service history from date it was manufactured
  3. 2004 ‘54’ VW LUPO -Very low mileage at just 53k miles -Mint original interior -Fresh MOT from 30th Jan -New battery -Service history -Tyres recently replaced, lots of tread -Original keys (x2) Drives well, body is in good condition, some minor cosmetic details that you'd expect for it's age. Viewing welcome £1,800 OVNO
  4. Just got my first car an 08' VW Fox. The front bumper needed a respray so i got it smoothed at the same time. Getting it as low as i can next, anyone had and experience with how low you can actually go with the car? I have looked underneath and there is about 120mm clearance for the lowest point under the car? Dont want flush or poke just a nice fitment. I am hoping to get some 15' banded steels staggered but i'm going to leave that for a later date. Any feedback will be appreciated.
  5. Hi all, Recently I had to remove my gear knob from my VW Lupo 1.4 Automatic in order to remove the centre console. Whilst putting the car back together, however, my gear knob button is jammed about half way into the gear knob and out; when installing back onto my car the button is jammed in said position and thus not allowing me to change gears in the car. Has anyone else had this issue before and knows the solution/do I need to buy a new gear knob? I'm unable to find any information regarding the Lupo specifically online, but all of the tutorials online show the cars "swapping auto gear knobs" which is helpful: but, when they release the selector itself the rod allowing the car to change gear needs to be pressed down, whereas in the Lupo it needs to be pulled up in order to change gear. Many Thanks in advance.
  6. Hi all, Was curious if anyone has attempted a project similar to this before: raising a Lupo. When the Volkswagen Lupo was announced many years back I was disappointed that no "cross" version of the vehicle was ever made, as the VW Golf Country Mk2 looked (and still looks) amazing - even if it was built in limited numbers. So, the intent of this project would be to produce a VW Lupo which looks similar to the VW Golf Country Mk2 and fulfills a similar purpose. Of course, this is a very early concept and something I quickly whipped up in Microsoft paint but this would be something similar to the final design if said project was ever to be started. To start, the vehicle would be given a DSG Gearbox from perhaps a VW Golf Mk5/6/7 to assist in driving through the United Kingdom. The proposed engines can be seen below, as you notice the displacement does not go above 1.4L, this is due to a multiple of reasons including: insurance, emission laws, fuel economy, and longevity of the project. Atop of this, I assume installing a 1.4L engine into a 1.4L car is not as difficult as perhaps swapping a 1.8L into a Lupo; though with no experience I could be wrong. Most likely, the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 1.4L TSI R-Line (150bhp) engine and 7 speed DSG will be used; this is to increase the longevity of the car as a VW Lupo in perfect (or near perfect) body condition with a (roughly) 3 year old engine and transmission will likely last for atleast another 5 years. if this project was to either begin, as well, the car would be looked after extensively to ensure its longevity. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the vehicle would be the external roll cage and Mercedes-Benz G-Class wheel guards, said guards would roughly increase the width of the vehicle by 120mm each side (*note, not finalised). The roll cage would be attached to the vehicle at several points (as seen in the pictures below, in lime green), the two attachments in the roof are intended to form inner roll cages and connect to the floor of the car (the Chassis) for additional rigidity and support. Atop of this, the G-Class style dual side exit exhausts would also be present on the vehicle because... 😄 and a car snorkel would also be fitted. A roof rack would also be added to the vehicle, holding either an LED bar of lights or Circular LED lights similar to the front of the Lupo. The car would also have a ladder on the back to access the roof rack more easily (even if you can just jump it 😅) . The cars suspension would also need to be altered to accommodate the weight, the minimum ground clearance of the vehicle would be 5" and the proposed vehicle would not be fitted by hydraulic suspension; nor would the vehicle be fitted with 4WD (unlike the Golf Country) due to budget constraints. Cosmetically, the car would be receive the words "Lupo" on the rear similar to how the words "Golf" appear on the new Volkswagen Golf Mk8. The front of the car would receive the "mean" eyes and badgeless front end; however, the badge would still be mounted onto the bonnet of the car in a way similar to that of the Volkswagen Scirocco Mk3. The badges, of course, would all be blacked out and the car would be painted Audi Nardo Grey. The roll cages would be painted BMW Protonic Red. The brake calipers would be painted gold. The brake lights of the car would be custom made, however this is not finalised. The rear seats of the car may be removed to accommodate additional storage for when you want to go camping etc. The spare tire storage area would be removed for further storage and, when needed, (i.e. not around town) a spare tire can be held by the roof rack. The G-Class wheel guards would also have indicators on them, these would be in an as yet finalised design - but most likely be similar to that of the G-Class bonnet indicators, but placed on the guards instead. Whilst I understand this isn't the traditional or "go-to" Lupo modification, I just thought it would be fun: whether or not I, or anyone else, attempts such a modification I just wanted to get his out of my system lol. Atop of this, the vehicle originally was to become 4WD, have a DSG transmission, and a decent engine - when roughly adding up the costs the car soon exceeded £10000: which is out of my budget. As a result, the more realistic approach would be to keep the car as front wheel drive and make the roll cage myself to save on most of this projects costs. Regardless though, I hope you enjoyed my take on a Volkswagen Lupo Country. *Note* and I understand that some of the images and diagrams I have used are not accurate, but they are their to simple estimate costs/sizes and are temporary: once the project officially begins I will document all changes to the car thoroughly.
  7. Can the lupo 1.4 sport (100bhp) parts such as the cams and aftermarket manifolds end exhausts fit on the 1.4 S (75bhp)?
  8. Hi all, This might be a bit of an outlandish question but would a Volkswagen Golf Mk7 1.4L TSI R-Line Engine and 7-Speed DSG be capable of fitting inside a Lupos engine bay? I understand engine swapping is difficult, frustrating, and potentially very expensive, but the thought process was both engines are the same size (granted the Turbo) so they should both fit - and how large can a DSG be, right? Atop of this, of course, other aspects of the car would need to be changed, but most importantly I was just wondering if anyone has swapped a Golf's 1.4L into a Lupo; specifically a more modern 1.4L (like the Mk5's GT TSI DSG with 170bhp, or the R-Line TSI with 150bhp). Thank you in advance

  10. So after owning my Lupo for just under a month, and after reading quite a few build threads, i have decided to do my own. She is a 02 reg, soft blue, 1.4 16v Lupo. My first car. So since owning her, shes been cleaned inside and out around 4 times and i havent had her a month yet! i mean... who likes to own a dirty car anyway? Any way, apart from all the cleaning i've done, i managed to take our the drivers side air vent, the seat handles and the binnacle and paint them gloss black. The binnacle didnt turn out as good as i expected because the lacquer started to run down and dried like it, but at least its gloss black now? primer... painted and fitted again... when i got the car, it only came with a passenger side seat handle, so i set to and ordered 2 brand new ones. found them on amazon if anyone else needs some? i also decided to remove and paint the covers that they slot into on the actual seat... and finally... i didnt want just gloss black air vents i decided to add a bit of a sparkle to it and added blue glitter! and fitted... heres one after i finished cleaning! i also got this through the post the other day, just need to remove my door cards then i can re trim them! sorry for such a long post, i'll be quiet for a bit now! what do you guys think?

  13. Anyone got suggestions for a good rear back box that would sound good on a 1.2 Fox? Thinking maybe a cherrybomb but keen to hear what other people have done. Cheers 🤙🏼
  14. Hi all, I was wondering if any of you have put different dash buttons/switches into your VW Lupo's, and if so which ones actually fit. I've seen some people suggest that a VW Golf (Mk4) has the same dash, and therefore button dimensions as a Lupo; I was wondering if this was true. Atop of this, what other vehicles - if any - share the same dash switch dimensions as the VW Lupo. Many Thanks
  15. Hi All, I was wondering if any of you have replaced, or added, a USB port into your VW Lupo's. My Lupo currently has 1 of the 5 possible buttons/switches being used (which is for heating the rear window) and I was looking at installing a USB switch their, I was wondering if any of you have done such a task before and what I would need to do so: (i.e.) what switch I need, what tools, etc. Many Thanks
  16. Hi All, I was wondering if anyone had ever modded a VW Lupo to turn it into a 4x4. I'm not sure why I'm eve thinking about this to be honest, but I was doing some research and the Fiat Panda and VW Lupo are almost have the same chassis length (by about 30mm, 3cm, or so) - meaning a conversion wouldn't be too hard: just very expensive. Atop of this, when I was thinking of this idea I imagined the VW Lupo as something like a G-Wagen. A huge, raised, truck - but it's just a Lupo. I mean, back in the day a Fiat Panda (1) (1980) had just 59bhp and was a good 4x4 - so keeping a 1.4 (75bhp) or Sport (100bhp) or even a GTI (125bhp) VW Lupo engine should be enough for a 4x4 conversion - however, the weight would increase due to this proposed modification. Literally had a dream about this, so ignore my MS Paint master piece 👌 and I know it's a bit silly but I thought it would be a bit of fun. What do you think? (Basically the VW CrossLupo we never got)
  17. Hi all, I've been looking at buying a Lupo, preferable a 1.4 or higher, for almost four months now and I was wondering what I should be looking out for when inspecting one. Atop of this, what does should it feel like to drive a Lupo and - again - is there anything I should be looking out for when test driving one of these cars. Many Thanks Edit: Also once I have purchased the car are there any "standard modifications" that I should add to improve driver comfort, such as purchasing a new gear stick with an increased amount of length.
  18. Hi all, I currently do not own a Lupo but I am seriously looking to get one, however the Lupos rear bumper (atleast to be) looks out of place. As seen in the image below I have attempted to remove the 'lip' of said bumper, thanks to Microsoft Paint. I was just wondering how easy it would be to move said bumper from the Lupo and do such a body modification to the car, and if its even worth doing. I understand that such a modification is relatively petty, because this is the only thing that deters me from currently purchasing the car. Many Thanks.
  19. Need some help on the best roof rack to get for my VW fox to put my bike on?
  20. So I’ve been a member on here for a few months now, never really posted much. I bought the Lupo for £450, had a few mechanical problems, I broke the gearbox when I first started driving so had my dad sort that. I wasn’t really going to do much to the car as I didn’t really think I’d keep if for a long time. Slowly started adding stickers to the back and thought that’s all that I’d do as I didn’t think it was worth spending much on a £450 car. Here he is today, haven’t finished with him at all. I bought a few things and before I knew it he’s completely different to how he was when I first bought him. Haven’t really got many photos of the “in-between” stages. But he was a standard Lupo 1.4s. Nothing more, now he’s a little more exciting. So here he is just after I bought him. As standard as you can get. This is about half a year later, as you can see, quite a bit has changed. (Lowered, modded lights/ indicators , Tarantula alloys, wind deflectors, a load of other stuff I can’t think of.) Rear end, partially smoked and yellow tinted lights, wiper blank, stickers. Pressed plates. Splitter. Still a load to be done, spacers are on their way for the rears, fronts will then be done eventually, got some plans for the steering wheel to be changed and hopefully straight through exhaust at some point, body work needs some attention and the wheels need a good refurb. oh and here’s the gearstick and gator. Cherry/Pro Bomb fitted. Mainly bought for the fact it’ll annoy the people that live nearby. 25mm Rear Spacers fitted also. Still need to get passenger side rear wheel painted gold, along with returning the others.
  21. Is anyone selling a left Driveshaft for a 1.4TDI, apparently I need a JZW-407451/AX but they seem too be very hard too come by, are there any other alternatives that'll fit or am I going too have to get a new one(if I can find one) or get mine reconditioned? Thank you.

  25. This is my Volkswagen Lupo, it's a 3D 1L, 2003 painted yellow. This is what it looked like when I first bought it. However it did not stay the this way. My dad works in a garage on the island and so of course did some work on it for me. He painted the bumpers, fitted brand new gear cables, put four coats of polish on and a new grille, took out the dents and a few other bits and pieces. This is the finished piece, needless to say I love it, especially for a first car. Of course, being the lunatic that I am. I decided to go off-roading with a couple of my buddies. And I'm sure you're all aware that these cars are not mean't for driving off-road. I didn't cause too much damage, just smashed the rear brake light, and scraped some of the fresh new paint work. I am going to be repairing it after Christmas, in the meantime I'm getting a few appearance upgrades such as a new seat trims, possibly a black VW badge, and adding some more decals.
