  1. Cheers everyone, helpful info there, will go out and look for the centre cap tool in my GTi... not sure I'll find one though
  2. Thanks Andy, that was a quick reply! Asked about the metal/plastic thing as the last time I had some wheels refurbed, the guy said he couldn't do the plastic centre caps methinks he is telling porky pies
  3. Hi all, long time no see! Quick question re the Lupo GTi standard rims, the Bathursts. Do the centre caps come with, or require a, removal key or anything like that? Anyone got any close up images? Oh, and are the centres metal or plastic? I'm after a set soon for my Polo GTi Cheers Si
  4. I'd make it if you don't mind a Polo gatecrashing your little Lupo tea party style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> We've got a Club Polo Mids meet today at the retail park just of J9 of the M6, on the Currys car park at 4pm style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Previous locations we have used have been: Corley services (M6) before joining a decked-dubs meet in Hatton ASDA at Oldbury Cineworld in Rugby IKEA/Currys at Wednesbury (today) Might give you some ideas for a location? Cheers
  5. Yeah its much the same as the Summer Festival, but colder style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I was there last year and it was a good show, not there this year though as I am away in Wales style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Cheers

    Silver Lupo GTi

Spotted a silver GTi at Lymm services, just off the M56, on my way home from Manchester earlier this afternoon border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> Looked pretty standard? It hasn't got a damaged tailgate, its just raindrops on my windscreen! The BMW driver on the right needs to clean his numberplate style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Cheers
  7. You're gonna struggle to find an English helpdesk style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> I'm with Tesco and pay £20 per month for 1MB broadband and no download limits. Plenty fast enough for my uses style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Is your Gran going to be a download junkie? The monthly cost of broadband is greatly reduced if you buy a capped package. BT offer cheap prices if you go for their 2GB capped service and if your Gran is just e-mailing, browsing and making the odd download here and there it'll be fine... Cheers

    Leddy's GTI

    Looks great style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  9. And by a Polo owner no less haha style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> No such thing as too low mate, we will have to have a mini meet with Ash and his S3 so I can see the coilies, I've had mine on for two weeks now, the Polo is down by about 70mm now its settled and I must say they're bloody brilliant style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
  10. Lupo GTi is a very rare sight around here you know! I spotted one on my way home from work, up on the ramps in Kwik Fit on Abbey Foregate just after 5pm. Silver Lupo that could have had grey/black alloys fitted, or that might just be really dirty standard wheels! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

    Audi A3 alloys

Evening everyone, Forgive me if I'm wrong but I understand that some members here have got, or have had in the past, Audi A3 alloy wheels like the ones I've just bought for the winter... border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> ... which obviously require adapters as they are 5x100 and my Polo (and your Lupos) are 4x100. What adapters did you use? I am looking at some 20mm H&R items which will set me back £200!! Also, my standard rims are 6J width, these are also 6J but with the adapters there is that extra 20mm. At standard height this won't cause a problem but when lowered (hopefully on coilovers) how will this affect things? I want to go down to in the region of -60mm to -70mm style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> Thanks
  12. Hello mate! Close... but no cigar this time! "high on dirt"'s Lupo is riding on Pro Race 1.2s! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  13. Hi everyone, I remember seeing some pictures of a member's silver Lupo GTi fitted with gloss black Pro Race 2 rims, it was quite some time ago and I'm trying to track down some of those pictures as I'm after a set of the same rims myself! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Can anyone point me in the right direction of the member in question and/or pics of his/her car? Any help would be gratefully recieved style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Cheers
  14. Could be! On the olop its 25mm, PhilGTi bought one from eBay for a few pence: border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> Original thread here style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Cheers
  15. So they would seem to be a straight swap as long as the tyres are 195/45s? Very tempting style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I think I should concentrate on lowering first, at standard height it won't look quite as good. Thnaks for the quick replies!
  16. I think it might be a 25mm grommet you need. I've got 25mm round grommet sat on my desk here, planned to remove my rear wiper and motor etc but the weather has gone all crap again so I'm leaving it on for now style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> If you're at E38, and assuming its the right size, you can have it, cost me 'nout in the first place, from a mate of mine style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Cheers
  17. All, Just been chatting with a fellow Polo GTi owner and we were throwing some ideas around, one of which was Bathursts on a Polo. Anyone got the specs on the Bathurst alloys? AFAIK they are 6.5jx15, 4x100, ET??. Polo GTi standard BBS are 6jx15, 4x100 ET43 (I *think* its 43). Obviously the 'hursts would need 195/45 profile tyres slinging on instead of 205s, is there anything else to look out for? Has it been done already (probably has I should think). Any pics? I can't photoshop for my life, if anyone would like a go in their free time there are plenty of pics of my GTi here style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Thanks!
  18. I was told that just one tank of Optimax won't make much of a difference as some regular 95RON fuel will still be in the system - three tanks of premium fuel should be enough to start feeling a difference! I've been using BP Ultimate, or Shell Optimax when I can get to a station (none within 12 miles of home), for around the same length of time as Nicki and agree with her comments, slightly better mpg (until I fitted a BMC lol) and a bit more responsive. Cheers
  19. Hello folks, I haven't visited Club Lupo for quite a long time, thought I'd re-introduce myself haha! I'm Si, I live and work in Shropshire (and Staffordshire a bit) and own a black Polo GTi and I have more than a passing interest in Lupos! Signed up ages and ages ago but haven't been on for yonks because [a] I went on holiday then got uber busy with work, and I don't own a Lupo style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> so have had my head stuck in the Polo forums instead. Hello again everyone! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Now if you'll excuse me I'll be found catching up with various posts in the Readers Rides section style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> Cheers BTW anyone off to VWNW in the morning? I'll be there with Club Polo!
  20. That'll be Josh! We missed him unfortunately, spotted him when we were up on the balcony bit taking snaps but by the time we got to his car he'd buggered off with his camera and tripod style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
  21. Ok guys and gals, a few pics (of the 65 that I took!): border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> That'll do it for now! Carter, you're Arosa looks fantastic style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> Nicki, is the LHD mk3 VR6 the one right in front of you when you go in, next to that banana-yellow S3? It looks smart!
  22. It was a good effort for a first show IMO. Kudos to the organisers in getting the Belgian contingent over, they had some stunning rides, my favourite being the cream Polo on air ride style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> Pictures are still on my camera, I need to install all the relevant software and resize the pics down to forum-friendly sizes style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  23. Yup, the roads are gonna be a bit iced up. Although there is plenty of grit and salt laid down on my local roads! Its cold here in Shrewsbury, the furthest effort I've gone to today is to black my tyres and clean the glass with AG glass polish spray, not washing it as I'm not on any stands myself. Plus it'll get filthy on the short run from here to the NIC, dread to think what it is going to be like for you guys and gals making the trip from further afield style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> I'll be getting there about 11:30am to have a mooch about (bringing my camera w00t!) so will try and make sure I make myself known to some you Club Lupo peeps style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  24. Presactly. Its a 2 minute job, even for me! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  25. Rookwise, you need an aero rear wiper as fitted to the 9n Polo, just like on Altern8's Loop. Once you've got it, the blade needs to be cut to length so that it doesn't foul on the rear spoiler, or oversweep the glass area. When I fitted mine to my Polo, I marked the aero blade and handed it over to my Dad, who took it to work and brought it back shorter, no hassle style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> he said you have to keep the end cap of the blade and re-cut the grooves so that it fits back onto the now shorter blade? I haven't got the invoice any more otherwise I'd have a part number to hand, but if you ask for an aero wiper for a Polo 9n, that's the badger! Try the 'Bay or VAGparts? Cheers
