  1. I Have a bank of switches where the GTI cup holders fit. The thing that I have always wondered, what on earth is the top tray on the bottom shelf for? It has weird cut outs in it but for no apparent reason.. Am I just being stupid?
  2. Sounds like one of the connections has just come loose. Getting the dial down and having a look is the probably the best thing to do.
  3. Have you got the right wiring loom for the car? Also, have you checked the power lead from the HU to the battery?
  4. I have a T Reg Lupo and have no cup holders anywhere I would quite like at least one..
  5. Please do. Im on my fourth printout and 19th stick of pritstick.
  6. Turn the keyboard upside down and the text will come out the right way up.
  7. I get a ~7ft kayak on inflatable 'Handirack' bars on the top of mine. The overhang isn't that bad - nothing to be worried about. Ill try and find a picture in a bit.
  8. Sorry, forgot to reply Yeah that included everything - its more then likely I will go with them. Well actually, doesn't look like I'll have enough money to keep the car as the people I went into the back of wan't £1350 for repairs (Yeah right, less then 10mph and Iv'e only been quoted £300 for mine..) So yeah might have to go through insurance and I won't be able to afford the new premium. Bye bye lupo
  9. Fair play to you if that's what you like. Imo, they look great in Grey! I think foxes are great little cars and in my experience (well.. my parents) aren't any worse then French cars but look a whole lot better.
  10. £300 for the whole repair including parts. That was just a rough figure though apparently - Couldn't be sure of the actual damage until the bonnet was opened.
  11. Looks like I need a new Garage Thanks for your help - Ill go out and take a look in the morning. The dent is pretty minor but He was going on about the support bar behind the bumper being broken!?! Ill shop around a bit I think and get a few quotes. Thanks again for your help.
  12. Not yet, I took it to my local Garage and he said it was about a £300 fix including parts but didn't want to open the bonnet in case he couldn't shut it again. Did you see how he opened it? Im tempted to rip the grill out because It looks like i'll need a new one anyway. If it is just that it sounds great - Thanks for your help and i'll keep the cable in mind. I assumed the metal of the catch just got bent or something but the cable seems a much more likely option.
  13. I know, but luckily its not too bad. Here is a picture, showing the small repair attempt I had that involved a ductape plaster
  14. Well I was behind someone queuing at a roundabout today and there where no cars coming round so they went to go. Last minute they changed their mind and decided to perform an emergency stop. Now my reaction time wasn't really very good at all (Didn't even notice for a few metres.. :/) And I ended up in their back bumper. My fault for not paying attention. Not too much damage to their car and not too much to mine however, The grill is a bit broken and the plastic panel around the grill is in need of replacing. The bonnet won't open no matter what I do and the bumper is bent in. I just had a few questions . Does anyone know of a way to open the bonnet so I can properly assess the damage? Does anyone know of any good Body shop places to get this drepaired around the poole/bournemouth area? Finally, Is there a support bar behind the front bumper (Probably need replacing too if there is)? Im thankful that I was only doing 8-10mph so the damage is minimal and no one was hurt. Thanks.
  15. I can imagine. It may be worth popping the cover off the switch and taking a look behind the switch to make sure all the wires are firmly in place. Other then that It could be a case of finding some wiring diagrams and working your way through. It sounds to me like a wire has come out of the beeper that makes the noise which would hopefully be an easy fix.
  16. Mine is a 1999 1.4S And It beeps loudly if I leave the lights on without the key in the ignition and the door open..
  17. Why does the size increase as you read on?! If you are going to post on here, try following simple rules of punctuation and the English language. The colour is Fantasia Green I imagine and yeah its a cool colour . For coilovers I would go for TA Technics(?) sold by PhilJ on here for £210, You will find a thread selling these in the Marketplace. Im not sure about a good height to lower them by - Its really just personal preference. I think the wheels would fit although don't trust me! If you live nearby, drive over and stick one on - check for yourself. A google search will probably find you a bad bot bonnet, although they look gash imo. As for an audio system, my mate has run a JBL sub and amp with Pioneer comps for a long time and never had any problems - pretty good if you wan't a cheaper alternative. Hope this helps.
  18. My parents bought a 1.0 New in 2004. They never had any problems with it at all except for the rear wiper spray wash nozzle thing stopped working about a year after they bought it. Simple to fix though, and under warranty. Like Promark points out though, you did pay a price premium for the Lupo whereas the Fox is much more competetively priced for its market.
  19. That's why everyone should come down to Sandbanks in Poole! There is a car park on the peninsula right next to the beach and its a Pay and Display and pretty much empty unless it is boiling hot. Even then it empties around 6/7PM.. Or, We could go over to Studland on the ferry (Small, chain driven ferry that goes across the harbour entrance only a couple of quid to go across) Just as you get over the ferry there is a small Cafe/restaurant with a car park right on the beach which would be perfect!
  20. I think the 1.8T from a Passat is the most popular for engine conversions, although I don't really have a clue about this sort of thing
  21. Exeter would be good, if not a little west/south . Bath/Bristol anyone? Also, I might see you there Mike - If I can get the back looking half decent with the polisher!
  22. Shame I don't have a Tidy VAG otherwise I would be up for that . I would say Sandbanks for a meet but its probably a bit too far south for most! How about Yeovil?
  23. I worked out how much It has cost me to get 'on the road' so far, and almost cried . Theory & Practical £90 Lessons £250 Provisional Insurance £220 Car £1750 Insurance £2200 Tax £120 Two New Tyres £90 Total - £4720 Admittedly I could have bought a cheaper first car, But I really wanted a Lupo and the kick of a 1.4 over a 1.0. The UK is rubbish for new drivers, especially when you look at the US and see them marketing a 2.6 V6 Dodge as a perfect first car for 16 Year Olds.
  24. You would be hard pushed finding a 2002 Sport for 3K, yet alone a GTI.. But any positive publicity is good publicity (Unless you own a Morris Marina..)
