  1. they are the same, they both go through a throttle body and manifold and into the engine.
  2. what? g40 boost temps are very respectable?! first you have a glader which doesnt get the air hot at all compared to a turbo or roots type blower, then you have a intercooler..

  4. mate - £270 plus vat you are getting 'shafted' if its not too late speak to john at dave mac propshafts in coventry. i was quoted around £175 a piece for custom shafts, and that was using f1 quality steel that they guarantee to 600bhp..

  9. as much as i love the lupo i also want to upgrade to the merc to amg55 brakes.. 345mm Brembo Ceramic Discs & 8-Pot Calipers. theyre a bit more expensive to save for..
  10. **** that! thats a tank of fuel! does anyone know if g60 calipers will fit aswell with the right hoses? thinking as im doing it i should go for the 280mm wilwood golf setup for £425 on rallydesign

  12. so kameragram, what is the width of your calipers that didnt fit? so i can measure mine up. also, does anyone know where to get the carriers, theyre like hens feet at the moment it seems.. tempted to save up and get a wilwood set off rallydesign..

    its definately not a stock G40 one, it should be good for about 300brake and 250ft/lbs

  17. thats a head off job im afraid. you cant drill it out and re tap with it on, all that swarf will totally nodger it when you run it. but helicoiled spark plugs are fine, some early mercs came with that as standard before aluminium heads were really tough enough.

  19. no, uses the same amount of power to turn them the same amount of times, but with a smaler rolling radius they have to turn more than larger wheels for the same distance.

    im not going to know if my G40 one will fit without bolting it up i guess.. thinking about just getting it in for a remap asap and leave it as is for now. when the polos all gone will be able to get into it. think i might need a new Track rod end or a lower ball joint and a few other odds n ends.
