  1. Cracking car, owned it a few years back! Looks very well looked after...if I hadn't just bought a Beemer I'd be driving up to you tonight with a wedge of cash!
  2. The coilovers are Weitec Hicon GT's. The exhaust is the standard one with some new tips I had welded on before I sold the car. The standards were a bit corroded and ruined the back end, so had some shiny ones added to finish it off. Looks good, I do miss it a bit! I'll miss the heated leather come winter time!
  3. Coilovers will be the best for ride quality, and they don't have to be on the arse mate. Most companies say the lowering range is 30mm + so you will be able to do a subtle drop easy enough. Although they are expensive so maybe some springs would be good enough.
  4. Already lowered it. I've got the rear adjuster rings out so its as low as it will go on the standard weitec springs, but the front sits higher at the minute and looks daft to me. So skinnier tyres means I can go lower and get a slightly nose down look which I prefer. Should have better turn in too, provided the tyres are anywhere near as good as my PE2's!
  5. Hardly an internet gangster (whatever that is) you just put up a pointless comment in my opinion which was neither questioning my judgement or giving a reply. I see what you mean, I've had 4 new tyres put on in the last 2 months so don't want to buy another 4 really, just want to go lower at the front and dont want to swap the wheels as of yet for 14's. I'll go with Phils idea for starters I think and see what i think.
  6. Nice one, cheers. Not sure where I got the 7.5" width from, probably just read something wrong! Thanks for the help.
  7. Can you not read? I guess I hoped a little too much that you would leave the forum after everyone gave you loads of abuse for being a complete prick.
  8. I thought the Bathursts were 7.5 wide? As long as they will be OK, I couldn't image any problems but just thought I would make 100% sure! Should I just get a set of 4 though?
  9. Will this be OK? Basically I want osme thinner tyres on the front of my car so I can have some stretch and go lower on the front without catching the arches. Will these be safe to drive on!? I sometimes hammer down country lanes so I don't want the bead to break, but at the same time I know sensible stretches are perfectly safe. Also, I'll have 195's on the back, makes no difference to the way the car will drive normally surely, will just mean I have slightly less grip on the front due to thinner tyres? The wheels are the standard GTi wheels.
  10. Mine was without using the botton thingy though, just up until it clicked and then paid and went!
  11. I just did a round 150 mile trip from Derby to Doncaster and back, got there and back on 1/2 a tank. I normally get 90 miles to half a tank so quite impressed!
  12. 29ish mpg, damn short journeys. I need to buy another scooter...or an R6...
  13. I did ask what it was worth and got some answers yeah, I questioned one answer as well, but it is the other posts that had nothing to do with the value of the car. I do have a mind of my own, but my question was not to sell or not to sell, it was simply asking for a value on my car. At the end of the day it is a car forum, so there will always be repetitive questions asked, no matter what marque, it's just something to put up with if you frequent owners forums, and to quote you, 'if you don't like it, I'm sure you know what you can do ' I don't like the attitude so i wont spend much time on here, I'm not gonna cut my nose off to spite my face and not come back on as that would be stupid, but I guess i'm also not going to associate myself with the forum much. Edit - thanks John, thats the kind of reply I wanted in the first place. I see what you mean about the mods, if it sells it will go standard, and I know what you mean about selling further south, kinda hard though living in the midlands!
  14. I asked a simple question, what would you value my Lupo at. Not whether or now you think I should or should not be selling etc. I do appreciate the serious posts, but to everyone else why not just keep quiet? I haven't posted a thread about value before, yes I have questioned my ownership etc, but all of that is irrelevant. I've also got to say this is the shittest owners forum I've ever been a member of from some of the attitudes you people have, most are friendly, helpful and offer good advice, all you lot seem to do it moan. Possibly due to it being an older set of members, or maybe the VW scene is just full of miserable people who like to moan when someone doesn't fit in with their 'guidelines' of ownership for a minimum period of time, or doesn't replace enough parts on a car to warrant being a 'proper owner'. I would also liek to make clear the above comment is not aimed at all the members on here too, a lot have been very helpful to me with various threads.
  15. So what if I'm posting a few of these threads? It's an owners forum to discuss the cars they own, which is precisely what I'm doing. If people don't like it then don't open the thread, simple. The car is worth more than £6k purely looking at what others are selling for on the market. And not just at 'advertised' prices. If you don't like these threads then ban me.
  16. Gives you something to moan about I suppose! Can't make my mind up either way, probably annoying me more than you though! It's worth more than that all day, was offered a lot more than that when it was previously up for sale too but I declined the offers.
  17. Around £14 million I was hoping for...
  18. Got to be worth way more than that surely, rare colour, perfect options, very well looked after, good mods. Won't be selling unless I get a fair price for it.
  19. Not 100% on selling it, but found another car that has taken my fancy. Will sell them seperately if I get a good offer, feel free to make me one if you are interested mate.
  20. Just out of interest, what would you lot value my Lupo at:.... 2002 52 reg Lupo GTi (registered 31/12/2002) Coming up to 48k miles, full VWSH at the same dealer from new, loads spent (including cambelts etc) Full leather with heated from seats Aircon Upgrade stereo (original VW upgrade) Anthracite grey Spotless wheels and 1k mile old Michellin Pilot Exalto 2's A few stone chips on the bonnet and front bumper. Small bit of laquer peel on lower front bumper and a vertical scuff on the rear bumper. NO parking dents at all. Weitec Hicon GT coilovers, 2 months old (set up by Midland VW) Short aerial Just had 2 new exhaust tips welded on to replace the old corroded ones. Any ideas on what it would be worth on the open market? Thanks! A quick pic:
  21. The Lupo is good car, as said it's very rare and will get you noticed. The 106's are very reliable, the usual wear and tear items and there are a LOT of dogs out there. Personally I would go for a VTS saxo though if thats your choice, I know they are classed as chavvy etc etc but they are so much cheaper than the 106, for the same money as a decent 2000'ish 106 you could have an 03 VTS on 40k miles completely standard. Plus fnding a decent 106 is very lucky, I went to see about 6 before the Lupo came up and I snapped it up, so glad i did though. Speed wise, I had a race from 30-90ish on my private road with a VTS (same as a 106 gti speed wise as im sure you know), the VTS has an exhaust, and there was pretty much nothing in it at all, however there are a lot of dog rough ones, as well as well maintained very quick ones! Fun wise a 106/saxo will wipe the floor with a GTi in my opinion, so much more exciting on the edge, but that is down to the GTi being a much better built car, it's a lot more refined. Hope that helps?!
  22. Can anyone respray one in grey for me!?
  23. Thanks Phil, I just need to get the wheels now!
  24. Nice! My Dad has had 4 of the normal ones since they came out, really uncomfortable due to stupidly low profile tyres, noisy, really bad on fuel and everyone hates it on the road!!! I told him to buy a mondeo estate and pocket the change but he wouldnt listen!
  25. Thats a bit wierd, but I'll run with it! May have changed my mind on the wheel front at the minute though, I fancy those BBS's that Matt A is selling...
