  1. Yeah they'll be all good unless you drop it hella low. Which of course you should do!

    help me decide

Yeah sweet lookin combo mate. You might even get away with fitting et20 on the fronts as well if you're not planning a further drop. Either offset will look proper bo tho!
  3. Yeah good call there guys - like it. If you were really posh I spose u could use a syringe and hose from a hydraulic brake bleed kit - we use them on MTB's in the workshop
  4. My wheels are back on and staying inflated! Fri nights aren't ideal too late cos I work early on Sat morn. And the drive thru to Glasgow would turn my car into the saltiest dirtiest beeeatch around for when I turn up at the meet!
  5. Sweet! Certainly isn't mine..... Be lucky to get 1km at the rate I'm getting thru fuel!
  6. Sorry - what does 3L refer to? I've got a 2003 Sport.
  7. Nice one mate, welcome to the forum. What exhaust is that?
  8. I've heard stories from people doing a `bad-look` to their bonnets that the panel is an alloy and therefore slightly harder to work on. Are all of the panels on Lupo's alloy? I've just been bashing away at my rear arches to squeeze in my wheels and have chipped some paint - I want to know how much damage I've actually done!
  9. I got some `heat-proof` sealant yesterday and covered the split in my rims with it, so I'm heading off in a minute to see if the tyres will stay up when they get fitted again. Just hopin they will, otherwise as u say Craig it'll be sittin on bricks!
  10. Springs, bushes and a brace will tighten things up nicely, but if you keep the standard shocks they won't be at their best due to the drop in ride height. Damping makes a big difference to how it feels once things start bouncing around, and matched springs and shock kits offer good value instead of just springs.

    Turbo anyone

Crisps don't make your car go faster, but then again they don't sell turbo's in vending machines!
  12. Yeah I can meet most Sundays daytime and pretty much any evening thru in Glasgow. I've had to take my bling wheels off cos they're leaking air until I can get them `re-sealed` - but the rest of my ride'll be there!
  13. Yeah sweet mate, makes such a difference to the ride as well! Word of warning after I dropped my Sport to the floor tho - check the front ABS sensor wires aren't near the tire sidewall. May have just been funny routing on my front left, but it did a bit of damage and can be easily taken care of with some black tape to pull them clear.
  14. Get the car to a ramp if you can - if not you'll have to just jack it up to get underneath it. The plastic sump gaurd may be in the way, but there should just be a big obvious bolt underneath the sump that you can undo pretty easy with a socket set - can't see it being any bigger than 13/14mm. Let a bit drain out then measure it again. Having too much oil will damage the CAT, but it's not total life threatning to your engine if you drain it quick.
  15. I think they're the same - my et was 33 in their 6.5 standard width, so with the dish they are around 25 now as well. I just need to find a decent refurb company to take them apart and replace the gasket thing - can't believe they're leaking air!
  16. They're actually the same dimensions as Clifford's (blackrat) GTI in last months PVW. I think he's had some arch work done, but I reckon I'll need a fair bit sorted to run the car as low as it was on standards.

    HANK`s LG

Yeah real sweet mate - nice and simple Phat install and tidy rims = all good!
  18. I got them off Ebay - £550 including postage without tyres. Unfortunately I've just found out that the new deep outers haven't been put on right and are leaking air, so will need to get them refurbed - old wheels now back on!
  19. They were just sprayed with VW black paint in my room. A proper DIY job, but if you use lots of very fine layers you can get them progressively darker but not too dark that they dont work. They're fine at night and I've never had any beef off the police.
  20. They were from Farmer Autocare, and meant to be 70 each fitted but they gave me a tenner off so £270 all in. They were really sound actually and said they'd try to fit anything. Every other place I tried just laughed at me!
  21. Yeah the BBS were my total top choice - just got lucky on Ebay from a German guy. They are too wide for the body tho - will need to pick it up for the next few weeks til I can get the arches sorted. FYI - The BBS RM's were ET33 in standard fit (6.5x15), and these have the extra dishes to make them 7.5 and 8 wide. The fronts seem ok so far, but it looks like the rears will need some work. Just to help for us `non-gti` owners with baby arches!
  22. FINALLY got my rims over from Germany on Friday, so rushed and got the tyres on yesterday - we ended up getting one of the fitters standing on top of the rim, on top of the tyre fitting machine to stretch the tyres down over them! Lupo Soprt 1.4 16v 100bhp BBS RM 15" splits - 7.5"f and 8"r with 195/45 Dunlop 2040's all round Funtech coilovers - still changing heights with new rims fitted K+N 57i induction kit Mattig grill and insert Panasonic MP3/WMA headunit MacAudio MacAttack 350rms amp Infinity Perfect 12 sub - sealed box Smoked rear clusters Smoked indicators `De-badged` f+r Side strips removed Those of you at the recent Scottish meet will have seen the car on the standard rims a few weeks ago, here's some updated images: Still got lots to do, but that'll have to wait till I find some more money! Cheers, Will
  23. Agree with you there Tigz - had Powerflow fit an exhaust on my old Mk3 Polo. It actually cost £399 inc. VAT as it was a full `de-cat` system - twin 3" square pipes. Looked quite nice, but they managed to weld the second pipe a little bit squint, and the sound and power were weak! I reckon the bore they'd used was totally wrong for the little engine, and I was pretty dissapointed all in cos I had heard good things about Powerflow. I reckon a good custom job is the way to go, but due to variations between dealers, a wee bit of research and chatting to other customers is def. important. There are plenty of custom exhaust companies online now - get onto google and give a it a pop.
  24. Yeah there's a serious number of Lupo's in that top pic! Big hello to all the new forum members from Taiwan!
