  1. Hi All, Looking to get new wipers all round as mine are pants now! Anybody tried these: http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item518d972acb http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT What do you think? I have read about people wipers lifiting at high speeds! Just checked, I can get 3 normal wipers for £11.31 and 3 aero wipers for £11.96..only a 65p difference. Is it worth getting the aero wipers or are they not as good? Thanks

  6. Hey, How much do professionals charge to install an amplifier and wiring kit? I have always done installs myself, just wanted to know what kind of saving I am making. Thanks
  7. When it gets hot the clutch does not engage or disengage fully, otherwise it is perfect though. Why should the clutch performance change at different temperatures? Thanks
  8. Hi All, Posting on behalf of a friend as he is not at one with forums! The car: Y reg Lupo 1.4s The problem: The car sits at 70 degrees after about 15 mins of driving which is fine after 15 mins, but my car and others on here sit at 90 degrees stable. It only ever increases when there is a lot of gear shifiting, like start-stop journeys. His Lupo may go to about 72 degrees but once it starts going any higher changing gear becomes very difficult in all gears. Please note that this is only when it goes over about '70 degrees' on the temp gauge. Gear change is lovely and smooth 70 degrees and below. He had the gearbox refurbished about 6-7 months ago I think, defo refurbished though. Also when it reaches this state the clutch does not fully go down, however the pedal does go fully down. I know this because he can put the car in 1st gear clutch down and leave it down and it will start moving. So the gears are very hard to put in and take out, he has to give it some proper force, and the noise is awful. My thoughts are that either: The temp sensor is reading incorrectly (non-VW part) so is affecting something The overheating is affecting the clutch cable, causing it to lengthen somehow, thus when the pedal is pushed fully down the clutch is not fully disengaged Any ideas guys? I think we may take a trip to the stealers and get a VW temp sensor. It is very strange because at 70 and below it is perfect, even for a VW gearbox! I feel the problem is clutch related and not to do with the peddle box. Thanks, Irfan
  9. I got an amp for sale, a BOSS Blade 2000, 4x220 wrms, yes RMS. I am now using a JL 500/1 to power my sub and there is not much difference. I used the boss as a three channel, door speakers and sub amped up, sounded great! PM if interested. Thanks.
  10. Mate keep away from Car Audio Centre..I cannot remember if it was on this forum or talkaudio, but there are many bad reviews about them, mainly with regards to them trying their best to push the 'In Phase' products! I am a fan of JBL gear, value for money I feel.
  11. Hi Guys, I think my gearbox oil needs a change, how do I go about this and what oil do I refill it with? Transmission Fluid I believe I have no idea about how to drain it or anything. Thanks for any help! Irfan
  12. Welcome..from one Brummy to another!!
  13. I needed to keep as much space as possible for a suitcase..
  14. When I used to drive from Birmingham to South London (approx 120 miles) I would use just over a quarter of the tank, now I do about 60 miles to a quarter! Also it could be due to using the heaters and other stuff!
  15. Short journeys ,especially stop start city journey will decrease your mpg!!
  16. Hey fatttty, What do you do security wise? Does anything detach on your pioneer? Cheers
  17. I would say call the police, what if she tries to claim whiplash etc through some dodgey compensation fraudsters...or she tell the police or something..the police can be funny about it, depends if you speak to the right officer or not!
  18. I just had this problem, it was due to an airlock in the system from draining all the coolant..it was fixed after about 10 minutes of driving..another guy on here said it took him about 40 minutes of driving to fix..
  19. Hi, Ok yesterday it was luvli jubli, kept me nice and warm! Could yesterdays temp sensor disaster have caused this? Another person of the other thead said that the thermostat is a cheap and easy fix, does anyone know where in the car it is? Lupo 1.4 75 Bhp.. Thanks
  20. Hi Guys, Yesterday I decided to change my coolant temp sensor, which went ok till it popped out while I was driving, the car overheated and all the coolant drained out. I have now refitted the temp sensor and have tried to pull it out myself to see how well it has been put in, I cannot pull it out, so that is a good sign. I now have no hot air coming out the blowers, even when the car has heated up to 90ish degrees. This could be because of an air pocket in the coolant system, but I doubt it. From a little bit of research I read that it could be the thermostat stuck on open. It could also be a clogged system or something, I personally think it is the clogged because after the car overheated all this gooey mucus type stuff was on the temp sensor when I pulled it out..not too sure though. Anybody ever had this? Now I wish that I had never even touched the temp sensor! Thanks, Irfan
  21. It is just rotating, so I am not too sure itf its ok like this.. Also I tried pulling the sensor out and it does not move now. It is now snowing like a mofo in Birmingham, please be fixed!!
  22. Orignally I could see green i.e. before replacing it..also tried pulling it out, it does not budge, the black wiring block did come off eventually though..sounds like its sorted but that's what I thought yesterday!
  23. Hey guys, I have my car back, refitted the sensor, there does not seem to be anything different that I have done this time. This time however I used the VW ring and plastic clip.. Can somebody tell me if this looks right please? Also check the vid for the movement I am getting in the clip.. Thanks, Irfan
