  1. Nearly bought one myself on more than one occasion! i used to have an Ignis Sport and loved it! One question though, why did you take the black decals off the A pillars? Did you want it look less like a mini? lol
  2. Arosas are much better looking from the front, I think a lupo is nicer from the back as I'm still not sure on the rear "sticklbrick" lexus style lights on the Arosa Apart from the pollen filter all Arosa Sports got sports seats (like you want) Most Lupos were normal interiors up until 2003 when they put the Gti one in. Also all the Arosa Sports have the dark carpet/plastics. Most of the Loops have light grey which is a bitch to keep clean! The Arosa has better headlights, the Lupos are pap compared to the twin set up in the Arosa! If your lucky you can get a Lupo sport with air con and/or a sunroof. Neither were available on the Arosa Not sure on any other differences, either way there are pros and cons to each but they drive the same!

    E30 BBS alloys

Will the BBS wheels off an E30 BMW 325i fit my Arosa? I know the fat tyres will have to be junked. From what iIcan see they are 4x100 ET 33 but not sure on center bore? Thanks
  5. So the VXR was the quickest FWD car around the ring so Vauxhall release a special stickered up version to celebrate. A few weeks later and Renault beat their record, how ironic! However if you think about it, the VXR is standard road car and has always been in the same guise, the Megane Sport 225 is now up to its 4th version of ever increasingly mad versions so I dont think it should be compared. Vauxhall are instead concentrating on making the Corsa VXR 888 which will have 280bhp. How this will put the power down god knows!! Also a thing to rememeber when comparing the R-26-R to the Focus RS. In a few years the R26-R will have fell apart and be worth sod all. The Focus will have cult status like every other RS ford before it and fetch good money.
  6. My 1.0 Arosa has 1 air filter fitted but it looks like it can be fitted either side in the big square airbox/engine cover) well looks like you could fit 2 no problem, how many is it supposed to have? If 1 then which side does it go in? I'm not sure if the previous owner used a pikey garage to service it so i'm doing it myself! So want to make sure its in the correct side!
  7. Sorry I don't have a photo, I can hardly get my hand in never mind a camera! When using pliers just feel about a bit and make sure you tug on the bulb holder not the wires. They are only push fit, they just slide in and out, theres no actual method to it. Ocne I put the bulbs in I just clipped them back in with my fingers.
  8. I know the lad well who did the MOT, I watched him do it aswell so 100% sure he didnt do it. I should have done a search, gearbox selector seal is a common failure. I'll be looking at that area to start with i reckon
  9. Good news in my Arosa passed its MOT today! Bad news is on the way home something let go big style! The engine management light come on and flashed. Nothing seemed to be up so I ignored it! 10 miles down the motorway later and I start smelling oil. Whilst continuing to drive a sudden smokescreen appeared behind me! Ironically the light had gone off at this point! I got it on my drive and had a quick look under, there was oil running off the bottom of the box, not just trickling, properly running. The oil must have ran onto the exhaust to create the smoke. Popped the bonnet and there is oil everywhere, oil over the box, pipes, driveshafts, its hard to tell whats let go to be honest. Engine oil is low but runs fine and the oil light has not come on. Engine pressure and temp is fine, running sweet. Its a bit dark to tell what it is so what do you guys reckon, oil seal or something related to the shitty gearboxes in these cars? Maybe driveshaft seals? Its really annoying this happening on the day it passed its MOT! The only advisory was "minor oil leak" Oh the irony!
  10. I agree its an absolute nightmare with your fingers. Drivers side i managed to changed side and headlight bulb quite easily. Passenger side you defo need to move the battery. What you need is a pair of long nosed pliers. Its so easy to remove the sidelight bulbs by just pulling on the bulb housing. While i was there i drilled 2 nice holes in the back of each bulb cover before refitting. Since then my headlights have been steam free
  11. I think most cars would crumple like that if they hit a Q7, I certainly wouldnt fancy hitting one in my Arosa! I think Edd China on 5th gear the other night said the Q7 was one of the biggest cars on sale in the UK. They look it for sure!

    Opinions

Which car were the teddies originally for or they Ronal aftermarket only? I swear I saw a brand new mk3 golf cab with them on years ago in the showroom?

    Arosa land!

One of those is probably the one i hired! I got it from there, near the taxi rank
  14. Pull the door handle cover off using flat blade screwdriver right at the bottom of the handle, undo the 2 big screws that hold in the handle. Once that is free'd up just lever the door card off gently all round it using a screwdriver but put some tape of the end to stop it scratching. You will break some clips, its virtually impossible to remove one without breaking a few! You will see how sinple it is once you have it off! Once its off you just need to unclip the door pull wire. Jobs a good un!
  15. What bulbs does the Mk2 take for normal dipped headlights? On the bulb websites configuration thing, they say its H4 but they are not that big so they are all telling fibs! I'm guessing H1? I'm having flashbacks to asking VW what bulbs were in my beetle, being told they were 100% H7, ordered some and they were H1!

    Arosa land!

I hired a 1.4 Auto mk1 in Magalluf! It was in that nasty pale orange colour and had grey bumpers and steels, it was proper nasty!
  17. Have you ever been in a new shape focus? Its a lot better screwed together than a mk5 golf thats for sure. (Mk4 Golfs are better made than the 5 too)
  18. Its 2WD!!!!!!!, 296bhp through the front wheels! Should be entertaining!
  19. Yes never noticed the missing bins! I could only see this being useful if you had 3 small children. But then If you had 3 kids why the hell would you buy a Lupo? Surely a more similarly priced Polo would have been a better option?
  20. I noticed this one doesn't have a split rear seat but has 3 headrests and a lap belt. Not seen this before on a Loop, was an an official VW option? just curious!

    1.4 s

I wouldnt bother tuning it at all mate. I once had that lovely 1.4 8v in a Polo and the most your going to get is a few BHP. If i was you just buy one, run it for a year or so standard, save your cash you would have wasted modding it and put it towards a 16v. Also you seem to be able to get hold of a 1.4? They are very rare in manual so are you looking at Autos? Most manuals are 1.0 as the extra cash and insurance wasnt justified for 10bhp gain over the 1.0
  22. Where do you get the bulb from? yeah same idea, pull the middle knob off
  23. you only need to pull the middle one out, one bulb covers all 3 dials.
  24. Yeah its the same dark grey colour as the plastics in the car. The pics above make it look a bit lighter than it actually is.
  25. I agree looks good, fits perfect and includes a new leather gaitor. if you buy an aftermarket one you will have to bodge the old gaitor up into your knew knob! I'll refrain from adding any obvious knob inuendos!
