  1. Couple more pictures, Got the front coilovers on. Looks so nice now Got a better picture of the rear wheel aswell, on this side it seems pretty much dead central to me Seems like it's just the other side, which is strange :S Anyway I have a badge from a sharan for the back and i'm toying with taking the 'lupo' badge of the rear..not sure though
  2. Did you get this resolved? Looks like I have a similar issue, although not to the same extent as yours as mine has never rubbed
  3. I'll get hold of them in the morning then and give it a go. I haven't got any better pictures, I'll get some better ones tomorrow. Is that an issue if they do? And what would cause it?
  4. Didn't actually measure the height because I haven't got the fronts done yet, but i wound the adjusters down so there was 4 threads visible at the bottom. My tyres are the same as yours aswell! Speaking of finishing fitting the coilovers i took my front wheel off to be confronted with this... Could not get them to budge at all. Any suggestions on what to do? I was thinking some penetrating oil and a breaker bar maybe??
  5. little update, Got the rear coilovers on at weekend, took me almost two hours to get the bolts off the bottom of the shocks! They were seized like nothing I have ever seen before. So because of that I ran out of time to fit the fronts, I just levelled it up with the front as best I could until i can get the fronts done. Also discovered I had been sent the wrong bolts with my spacers, so waiting for them now aswell...frustrating! Anyway, here's a comparison
  6. I used Hammerite on mine, wish i'd seen what clayton has linked to though! Ah well I'm not gonna go any lower than 50/60mm I don't think. Just want to get them on now!
  7. Not planning on crazy low, there's a lot of speed bumps around where i live! Just want to get that arch gap down to an acceptable level! No idea why the standard suspension is so high!
  8. next step will be to address this cavern of an arch gap So i bought these and some 15mm spacers for the rear Hopefully going to get them on this weekend, so i'll update after that
  9. Decided to make a thread here to keep track of my progress with my GTI. Bought her back in January when she looked like this... Definitely a few rough edges (lacquer peel, kerbed alloys) general 14 year old car wear and tear! Changed a few thing's whilst waiting to pass my driving test, but it was mainly a case of keeping her clean and kissing her goodnight..the usual. Got myself some pressed plates and got some Cambridge lights which I de-tangoed Then I passed my driving test and could finally drive her! This was my first ever drive out on my own, First stop was for some petrol Absolutely love driving her, amazing little car! have also had the alloys refurbished and polished/cleaned like a right nob head Did a little touch up job on the rear brakes aswell because they had been replaced with grey ones and it annoyed me everytime I saw them!
  10. I've ordered some AP Coilovers, just waiting for them to arrive. My question is and apologies if it sounds stupid but I just want to make sure I have what I need before I start! OK, if I want to just remove the old suspension and not take anything off to put onto the coilovers. What do I need to buy? Is it just the top mounts and bearings or is there anything else i'll need, like bolts or whatever? Did have a look in the 'how to fit coilovers' thread but it's not massively helpful now that the pictures have gone unfortunately! Cheers for any help
  11. Yeah mines already started to fade slightly aswell. Only had it since January. But for about a fiver a time it's not such a big issue. Another little picture aswell
  12. As the title says, i'm after a wheel arch liner for the front wheel, drivers side. Anybody got one? Cheers in advance.
  13. Cheers mate! Today, this happened
  14. I got the plates from Ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321413552350 Also for removing the rear wiper, it was pretty straightforward. I just followed a guide on here! http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/43009-rear-wiper-removal-de-wipering/?hl=wiper I got the rubber grommit to fill the hole from ebay aswell I think. Was only a couple of quid.
  15. Little update, have fitted LED sidelights and Number plate lights. Also got some pressed plates and have today dewipered the back window. Not too shabby
  16. At weekend I'm planning on getting rid of my rear wiper. I've noticed though that there's sort of like an arc shaped hazy line of scratches (best way i can describe it) where the wiper has been rubbing on the window. Any tips on how to get rid of it, or at least lessen its visibility? I do have a dremel if there's anything I can attach to that? Cheers in advance
  17. That is so nice! Love the rear bumper
  18. Rode past it today on my bike, it was beautiful! It had Cambridge lights, that's all I had chance to take in haha
  19. Sorry to hijack this thread but it's about the GTI spoiler so it saves creating a new thread! I've got a new light and a new connector for my spoiler, the problem is when I took the old connector off the two wires snapped leaving the pins from the end of the wires inside the old connector. Would I be able to get the little wire housing pin things from anywhere or are they only available from VW? another thing, any tips on a better way of waterproofing/sealing things up in the spoiler?
  20. attempted this today with the new metal replacement rings but when i took the old plastic bush out there's like a ring of what appears to be metal on the inside of the strap about a mm or two which makes it so i can't get the replacement in. Does this metal ring come out aswell or is mine a different type of strap? I'd take a picture but it is now pissing down!
  21. Ebay is where I got mine aswell. Gonna look into replacing the sidelights and the number plate lights then I think. I need to try and get a spoiler brake light from somewhere aswell. Anyone any ideas?
