  1. infact when mine went on the laguna and it went for a mot without me knowing the spring was broke the garage classed the car as dangerous and wouldnt let me drive it away
  2. £50 a spring atm on euro car parts, Please note you will have to do BOTH springs I would avoid driving it if possible see link http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Lupo_1.7_1999/p/car-parts/suspension-and-steering/suspension/coil-spring/?627444040&1&61abc49723210dea936e9b9e0a2f89216f4e5f1c&000073
  3. i would recommend a recovery service home - My previous car was a laguna this was a common fault but many have came off the seat and gone straight throw the tyre and wheel. Better to be safe than sorry mate
  4. thats part of a coil spring (suspension)
  5. What this game Is about? Lets Have Some VW FUN!! A Challenge is set by a member, then somebody has to complete it, once they have done so and posted photographic evidence they then get to set the next task, whoever wins that task sets the next challenge and so on... The Rules The photo posted up must be a new picture (so no old photos allowed, they need to be purpose taken!), Your VW/motorised form of transport MUST be in the picture! If two people post a winning picture it will be decided by who posted first After much discussion the timeframe for the challenge completion and form of transport used to complete are as follows:- Using your VW to complete the challenge The challenge set can be anything that is possible i.e drive with a water pistol hanging from the window down a high street lol The task Setter may not participate in their own set task! The leaderboard will be transfered and updated once we find our feet and get chance, but for now will start from scratch (combined once transfered). SO for the first few weeks its all to play for lol. When posting a new task/challange please post it in big/bold writing so it is noticable. PLEASE KEEP TASKS LEGAL! AND NOR I OR THE TASK SETTER ARE RESPONSABLE FOR ANY ATTEMPTS OF TASKS. Lets start with an easy one... CURRENT CHALLENGE:- TAKE A PIC OF YOUR CAR IN THE DARK!
  6. Thanks for the tip mate! once all this is out the way will come the modifcation May aswell get it running right before i tweak & fiddle!
  7. this will be my first attempt at a belt! - with some assitance of someone who knows what they are doing ofc!
  8. GSF car parts do a conti belt kit on ebay with water pump for £88 yeah the car's coming up to its 2nd belt change however has no proof that any have been done!
  9. i've got to admit i have traveled some distance a few times now to buy a car, and I love the drive back with a smile on my face!
  10. Yeah you seem to have your head screwed on, The AGU is a good route to go due to the forged internals i also read on another forum (mkiv) that a diesel bottom end could fit onto the AGU engine.
  11. yeah its just mechanical Strange noise from the box - believe its the thrust bearing - box coming off on the weekend Cambelt hasn't been noted as being replaced ever, so ordered a belt kit with all pullys and pump - will do all at once needs new rear tyres
  12. I know when people started dumping 2.0l turbo engines in MGZR's the diesel drive shafts were highly sort after. would imagen the same applys here. another tip i was given once is dont try to do it on a budget conversions often chuck up unexpected costs etc
  13. Yup don't get me wrong she has her niggles! but yes i was worried about getting pulled over by the police on the way back for that price!
  14. i would also go for the i think AUQ it is the 180 bhp engine & has the benefit of a 6 speed box
  15. Try a piperx or K&N replacement panel filter and stick to the standard airbox
  16. as far as i am aware theres not an 8V if you want more power, sell the car & buy a new one, or drop a bigger engine in it
  17. i think it could be possible to use the TDI drive shafts - not 100% sure One BIG thing you have not mentioned. Brakes... so massively increasing the power of the car? How about stopping?
  18. would be easier & cheaper to stick a 1.8 20VT in it tbh
  19. a good way to test the windows. When you unlock the car door with the key hold the key over in the "unlock" position the windows should go down, can be closed by doing the same with the shut position. if the windows work - its a switch issue - commom problem.
  20. it was around 1800 just outside chelthnam we beeped and waved at each other!
  21. Thank you all! yes i love the colour too!
