  1. Fixed non working passengers power window. Such a little problem but took about three hours to get it working. Now if I could just connect to ECU again.
  2. It's that time of the year again and Gti gets back on the road. Little maintenance done. New timing belts, water pump, spark plugs, oil and filters etc. Ditched the manual valves and wired in some solenoids and Avs-7 switchbox. Trunk install is getting done next week as well as the Exips are getting painted.
  3. Gearbox fill/level plug is on the opposite side compared to drain plug. It's pretty hard to get to. Just look above the driveshaft flange.
  4. So I made a new purchase one day. Blaupunkt Sydney with Bluetooth streaming and all. Couldn't be much happier with the oem look and sound is just fine I guess. Made a new bracket for the KPC dual needle gauges and swapped matching white LED backlight in them of course. Now just someone sell me a set of leather seats!
  5. Looking for complete leather interior, or maybe just front/back seats for my lupo.
  6. Yes there is, like I wrote in my first post. But the problem with that is that it comes from the dimmer switch and has variable voltage output. My new head unit, I think, needs 12v to get illumination working properly.
  7. Now that grey/white wire was the "k-line" as I thought. Green/grey wire is still a mystery. As for the illumination, it seems that I need to draw a new wire from non dimmed source. I believe that the ashtray light is not behind the dimmer switch so I might just tap a wire there.
  8. Might be a door microswitch related problem. Check if your dome light goes on and off like it should when you open and close the doors.
  9. I found this. Does anyone have this kind of diagram for Lupo (Gamma V)?
  10. Not sure what you mean, but Im using oem harness and connectors, just swapped pins in connectors so they are in correct spots. Previous owner has done some modifications in the harness so there are some mystery loose wires.
  11. As I was getting laughed at my perfectly good oem Gamma v radio I updated my head unit to 21st century. First I noticed there are few wires disconnected from connectors - one is colored green/gray and the other is white/gray. What are those wires for? One I think might be the k-line, but not too sure about the other... Then there is this issue with the backlight of the new head unit. It has two settings, day and night dimming. Now if I turn my headlights on, it starts flickering. Headlights off (day dim), its all good. Also, when I manually set day and night dim to same brightness, it works also with headlight turned on (no flickering). Illumination pin is plugged to same wire that it was with Gamma (blue/gray I think it was). I think it might have something to do with the voltage its getting from dimmer switch not being enough or something. New heading is Blaupunkt sydney 220bt btw.
  12. Passengers/ drivers door switches have completely different looking connectors. At least thats the case in my 2001 Gti.
  13. Lupo has been on air for a week or so. Few leaks in hardline setup and I already managed to break the bracket for manual valves, but besides that I'm quite happy how it's working. Frame is still not notched and arb is still in, so it will drop some more. Rear wheel fitment needs some tweaking as they poke and arches sit on tire, but fronts are pretty much where I want them. And somebody might notice few other changes from last year. Photo by Liude from BigMeet last weekend.
  14. Jacked up the rear of the car more and managed to get plenty more oil in (fill plug is towards the rear). Still not that 1,9L but close enough.
  15. No, I'll check that out if I can find it. These 02t boxes are so weird, took me a while to even find that fill plug.
  16. Thanks, thats what I thought. I was clever enough to measure that oil I drained from the box; 1,6 liters and some went to the floor and my hands etc. so I definitely got more oil out than in. Weird thing is when I first opened the fill plug, oil just shot out there.
  17. So I read that for gti FHE 5v tranny the oil fill capacity is 1,9 liters. I managed to get just 1,2 liters in. Car's pretty much level on jack stands and I idled the car on first gear for several minutes after first fill, but still couldn't get any more oil in (starts to drip out of the fill hole). What do you guys suggest I should try next. Maybe jacking up the rear of the car higher than front would allow more oil get in???
  18. That bracket to the wheel hub assy. In Airlift strut it was 22mm wide. Where it bolts to, it is 25mm thick, at least in my case... I grinded the brackets down, so they should fit now.
  19. ...And who ever said that mk3 Airlift fronts would fit straight in Lupo. Well, they won't. Not even close. I'll get my angle grinder.
