  1. Hey everyone, My exhaust starting blowing or something the other day when I was driving home from work. Sounded grumbly and deeper. So I booked it in for a free exhaust check at the garage. It's a 1.4 16v The bracket thing I think is attached to the cat and that's broken off but also they said the back box and centre section both needs replacing. The cat on its own they said was 439 quid. Is this a ridiculous overcharge or am I just gunna have to fork it out? Its going to have to have it sorted before MOT in a couple months but I don't have 600 quid to throw at a car that cos a grand... If someone can point me in the right direction for sorting the bracket temporarily and where I could find the full exhaust cheaper it would be great thanks.
  2. Cheers for the replies people. I had a look at the fitting guide for coilies. Think I'd feel more secure letting a garage do it T3lliot, how much did they charge you for that do you mind me asking? I might give them a ring see if they can sort it at a decent price.
  3. Hey everyone. Today my suspension kit from ap arrived. Full shocks and springs kit. I was wandering if anyone had a figment guide, ie searched everywhere and can't find anything. Also as I'm lacking in tools and anywhere flat I was thinking of maybe asking a garage to fit them for me, any idea how much they might charge for that? Surely wouldn't take them very long atall. Or if I was lucky anyone in the sheffield area that could help me I could pay them instead! Cheers
  4. any pics from you guys that have recently fitted your springs??
  5. will feel like youre driving a drag car to work! ha my interior could do with a big clean, not really sure what to use but looks like the previous owner carried round passengers who liked to wet themselves, or spill lots of drinks. but water marks everywhere!
  6. sorted! cheers deadmetal. your instructions all came clear when i sat and did it in the car. nice one
  7. looks sweet man. i know what you mean about spacing out the rears. i cant afford coilovers right now so might just lower on some springs 60 or 40mm for now until i can afford to buy myself a present! how low do you reckon youre down? around 80-100mm ish? hope the weathers alright for you today!
  8. yehhh looks sweet man, just been reading your updates on the interior. looks like youre making some steady progress! how low is your lupo sitting in that picture?
  9. so the headlining needs removing to get at the bit where the visor attatches to the roof? right now i have the replacement im looking at. its the passenger side so has the clip in/out bit on the right. on the left is the curved plastic bit which connects to a swivelling mount this mount bit is what im nto sure how to remove, as thats whats stopping the original in just pulling out. if this makes any sense? and thanks for your help so far
  10. hey all, basically the mirror in my passenger side sun visor is smashed up and this is obviously a disaster for the missus when it comes to checking her makeup. ive got replacements for both sides but cant figure out how to remove the old one and replace it. is it a case of pulling the roof lining from the front? cheers
  11. yehh the paint on yours looks good in the photo! what size wheels/tyres are you running? ive got 15's with 195/50 fronts and 195/55 rears and no sure if they'll fit need to test fit them at some point but always too busy and hard to jack it up round here!
  12. yeh i have a feeling its a fault in where it connects inside the door. which i have no idea how to go about even checking. looks like i might just have to live with it!
  13. gave a thumbs up, i was in the pretty standard taffy green lupo. one of the best looking cars ive seen out on the road, would love to see how it looks in pictures
  14. i removed my rear wiper yesterday. i had a 25mm grommet, it didnt fill the whole gap in the glass. i had to leave the factory rubber in and plug that with the 25mm grommet. not sure what size id need for the full hole but will have a measure and probably update later.would look much better flush like your guys.
  15. I just took a pic with the hubs off (i realised today for the first time theres one that doesnt match...) think it looks kinda alright with the black steels with the carbon wrapped front badge. what do you think?
  16. yep, i can tell ive started on the slippery slope! looks so much better just with that tiny change. it needs some t-cut or polish to get rid of the light scratches and paint discoulouring etc under the badges. heres a couple of clean pics, dont know if they really count as reflections but i was happy with it for a quick wash!.
  17. i just double checked. in fact the 2 toyos which I wanted up front are 195/50 the more budget tyres are 195/55 which may be alright on the back? would i still have problems running these even at standard height for now?
  18. car looks sweet. is it bad i like those 5 spoke black wheels that it came on?! so jelous of the driveway.
  19. thats a well nice car and wheel colour combo. looks awesome i love the colour of mine, paint hasnt been looked after brilliantly by previous owners though. still looks smart though!
  20. nice work so far man, cars looking good. what tyres are you running on the steels? you get any rubbing or scraping atall? i have just got some 15 inch alloys with 195/55 tyres on and im scared of rubbing etc if i lower it even a little bit. so not gunna try and get them fitted until i know if they'll work
  21. hey everyone. I know its not much but today i did my first (very minor) modifications and im quite proud of myself for not ruining everything! I thought id use my bank holiday weekend to play around and ive de-badged and de-wipered my boot. it looks infinitely better already. Theres still a tiny bit of the black gluey stuff left from the badges but will have to wait until i can get hold of a polisher to remove that. The guides in the how to section were a great help so thanks to whoever wrote them! a few pics to show what was done. Started like this De-wipered De-badged and cleaned! I was also changing my rear bumper over but the paint isnt a match so i'll have to wait on that one.
  22. oh mannnn thanks for the replies. one the same 15 inch wheels, would keeping the toyos on the back and replacing the 2 front tyres with 195/45's work? i.e. no rubbing at standard height and enough leeway for a small lowering? or would i be better selling these on and buying some 14's? thanks guys
  23. they all have tyres on plus he chucked in an extra 2 spares. the TOYOS are basically new so i was gunna chuck them up front with the more budget tyres on the rear. i'll see how they run on standard height see if theres any rubbing and the when i can afford i'll be lowering and could always buy some lower profiles for the front thanks guys
  24. i cant seem to see anything different. but maybe im just being stupid.
