  1. My Arosa has a link in the pipe which is next to the left back seat under some covering. Was wrapped up in foam but anyway if you find it and check the pipes havent come apart. I had water dripping inside then through the floor onto the ground. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />
  2. Just got cambelt and spark plugs changed (yesterday) but today the engine still takes about 10 seconds to start. Turns over well though. Did the weird shakey thing today for about 20 secs when I think it misfires or only 3 cylinders catch? So what should I do next? 98 Arosa 1.0
  3. I have no owners manual and am at 71344 miles. How often should the basic things be changed?
  4. Had major issues starting yesterday in bad weather. Had it turning over for so long so many times, flooded but kept going and after a while it caught and started. Battery must have been ready to give out too. Was ready to call RAC so sending in for spark plugs and starter checkup. leads and stuff I spose.
  5. You can buy them cheaper than that independently, about 80 pounds I think.
  6. Booked it in for the 21st 75 labour 75 timing kit. Asked him to do spark plugs too.
  7. Tried it today! No hissing but I think I may have squeezed another pound in. Defiinately no more than that though. Wasn't as esxciting as I hoped for anyway..
  8. Why did they decide to do whatever they had to do with a 'secret button' for 1 litre of petrol?
  9. Im not one to answer that particular question... Key to lock simpleton kind of 98 Arosa. Sorry!
  10. Absolute Ditto - word for word! Someone fill us in! Absolute Ditto - word for word! Someone fill us in!
  11. How much were you guys charged for this? I need to send mine in for it as the previous owner doesn't know if it was done before he bought it at 62K. Its now 71K. I dont think I can afford to wait.
  12. My driver one too! By strap do you mean the metal piece that should either hold the door out or make it pull back in? Access is a toughie.
  13. The heater control cover prises off then unscew the next piece underneath. Access is hard but you need to prise the white cover off the back and the small bulb is in there. You will see its where the 2 wires go. Bulbs are 85pish. Youve probably figured all this out by now but for future reference, enjoy!
  14. On the subject of leaks, I fixed my leaking/broken rear wash: there is a link in the pipe in the rear left behind the panel that houses the left rear seat belt. Behind the foam insulation my pipe link had come apart and was spraying everywhere!
  15. Anyone ever stuck one in a neon circuit? You know, a dimmer switch/dial? Couldn't find any on google. Wouldn't want to be dazzled by my new footwell LEDs when I order them would I?!
  16. How do you find what part number you need? I didnt get any manuals with the car style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Know of any usefull pdfs to get me started?
  17. Jon, you said "in the end I ordered a switch new from VW" - how did you do that?
  18. Hi everyone, Im new to the game having bought myself a 98 arosa 1.0 as my first car at 17. I like it and am getting into the customization a little bit. So, the first step is to ask how to create a new circuit for something like extra lighting, neon etc. I want interior stuff on a seperate switch, such as in one of the two blanks below the hazard and rear screen heater. Which leads me on to my second question - where can i find a switch to go here and what is the best parts site/shop and where do you all find out what part numbers you need? Hope you can fill me in! Thanks, Mike.
