  1. The plan will be quite basic, we want to make it an achievable build, something that people new to the scene can achieve or at least takes bits from. Love Ami’s car, think it’s awesome!
  2. Hello all, I've started a project thread here as can't post in the 'Project Builds' bit at the moment. Anyway, the car is a project for Fast Car Magazine. We wanted to build an affordable, easy to modify and cheap to insure car so we decided on a 1.0 Lupo. So far it's in a stardard state, here's how it looks:
  3. I wanna do mine soon as well, looks so much better with out it.
  4. I remember when everyone wanted Morettes. Crazy times! lol
  5. Prob go matte black. But if it's the right wrap carbon can look cool. But people will never think it's a CF roof.
  6. No message, just wont let use the start new thread button. Booooooo! That's good to hear mate, looked awesome that car!
  7. Well I went to start a thread and it won't let me. Not sure why lol.
  8. Thans for the warm welcome. And glad you like the mag
  9. Too be honest, it's all about the right alignment. True camber will wreck tyres quickly, but it's camber + incorrect toe that really wrecks. I was forever having my DC2 aligned but still wrecked tyres. Civic was generally okay, well for a car with a lot of camber.
  10. Would prob go 7s. I fancy breaking the mould and building a car that can do over 1,000 miles on a set of tyres for a change. My DC2 is doing a set in around 2k. Amazed my Civic didn't go through more.
  11. Looks great. I've been thinking about these, but debating whether to go 7s all round or staggered with 8s at the rear. 7s still have some good dish to be fair.
  12. Well it is a classic now really. Crazy to think that lol.
  13. That's crazy. Know that car from all the pics of it. It's nearly as famous as Ken Barlow's AX GT R.I.P!
  14. Yup, sure do. I'm currently doing a tear down and rebuild. Going back to original features, very rally inspired. Can't wait to hear the ITBs roaring again
  15. So true, they are doing some amazing stuff. Like I say, we've even done a Russian edition. Our old mag Editor (he's just gone to Dubai) spoke Russian, so have some good connections.
  16. Well I deff want to mention the club in the feature. As I'm sure it will be a great resource for the build. My only VW experience is campervans and Mk1 Golfs really. Othet than that most of my builds have been French (still have an AX GT) and Japanese. Thanks Thanks Joe
  17. We have more variety than ever. Of course there's a lot of wide wheels and stance, but it's an international movement now. We see cars of this nature from Europe, the US, Japan, Thailand and even Korea. Amazingly we've even done a Russian and Korean digital edition recently.
  18. Like I say times change. All the same, people loved that stuff. MP Live used to fill three days at the NEC.
  19. It's been a long time since the bodykit cars. True, they were lairy and although they never were my thing they sold mags and lots of them. Luckily we moved on a long while ago, if we hadn't we'd no longer be here. As simple as that really. Fast Car has been around since 1987, so we most be doing something right. We still get a lot of stick from the so called 'show car' people as we won't feature crazy bodywork anymore. But times and styles change.
  20. That's a bit few years ago really fella. We don't really talk about getting pissed, as doesn't really mix with cars. We are aimed at the younger end of the market, but our readership age is quite varied. We cover cars, lifestyle and quite a bit of tech. Next issue has the 700bhp Bisimoto 911, 500bhp FN2 Civic, 600bhp Corsa B, twin turbo 580bhp BMW M3, a 20V Lupo and a 6-page tech guide on turbos.
  21. Well often people who don't like what we are do are not our target audience. But, feedback is always good when it's constructive. And no, Glenda is my nickname lol. Thanks Emz
  22. Why are they (well us) crap? Always good to know what people think.
