  1. Welcome, also in a Fantasia Green Lupo. Live in Bristol, but work in Bath so will prob see you lol.
  2. Saw a rather a nice black Lupo on Ronals just outside Bristol, quite low and black. I was in the green beast.
  3. Yep, a Lupo modifying first I'm sure lol. I'm amazed how much I enjoy, will be a lot happier when its lowered though lol.
  4. Great wheels those, we've just done a project car at FC on those. And colour coded looks really cool
  5. Saw a pic of your car on Facebook, not sure where and thought wow! Love those wheels, look awesome!
  6. No probs, love the colour works so well!
  7. Well there's more room in the back of a Lupo than I thought! lol Looks good fella.
  8. Right, so I dropped the car off to Bristol Auto Repairs to get the car looking straight before we start the build. Plan is, get rid of the dents best we can, sort out where the laquer is coming off and colour code the bumpers. So just stripped and ready for some work. Will post some more updates in a bit
  9. lol, looks good though fella! No fella, that's right at the back in classifieds lol.
  10. I'm not sure what's on page 23... Yep, as easy as that. And just because someone rings and orders their wheels from an ad it doesn't mean they have not put time and effort into choosing them. Sure they may not spend the time us die hard car geeks put in, and may not have as much knowledge as you guys. But everyone starts somewhere and for most people that's how they start out. My first set of wheels were Raceline RL7s that I ordered from a magazine advert. Was a still a massive decision and took me ages to chose them and put a lot of effort in driving all over the place looking at wheels. But ultimately I got them from an advert. Oh and any links to some of your guys Lupo builds, or maybe a few pics. Be good to see your motors Anyway.... the car has just gone in the bodyshop, will post some pics up in a bit.
  11. That's the thing, a lot of people will just go to their local Halfords or auto store. But then they will as that's what is easily accessible to them.
  12. When I say budget I don't mean as cheap as possible. Obviously it could be done cheaper, but we are a magazine. The car still needs to be a good looking car and achievable. We wouldn’t expect someone to do the build in one go like us, but do it in stages. Or, just do one stage such as lowering and wheels. And of course we are going to work with partners and sponsors. We obviously work with and help support our industry.
  13. Very true, I think a lot of newer drivers would go for a simple tyre and wheel package. Like you say, buy, fit 'em and drive off.
  14. Just to be clear, I mean on a budget to the reader, not we are on a budget. We could do a silly expensive build with £2k amps if we wanted to, but that's not realistic to most people.
  15. I'm not being defensive fella, I just have a different opinion. I never said we wouldn't advise readers of the huge choice of available wheel options. And if I were not listening, I wouldn’t be on a forum replying to your comments.
  16. How are they a cop out? Yes, we have sponsors on board of course, but that wasn't why we chose them. And that's the point, they are readily available and people can get them. FC is full of cars with crazy fitments, and rare wheels and also expensive wheels. The point is, it doesn't have to be hard or expensive to build a car. Also, the OSR is hadly plastered across ad pages. I've never seen a set on a Lupo or another car for that fact.
  17. Exactly, ease you into it. That's the whole point of this project
  18. Like I said it's an entry level build that won't scare off the younger readers. We are always building cars that have wide wheels, arch work etc. It's a straight simple here's how easy it is to build a fun car. There will always be questions on forums, that's one of the main reasons people join them. Unfortunately most new forum members that ask advice just get shot down in flames by people with high post counts. As for PCD/offset articles we can't run these every single month, as it's not exactly rewarding to regular readers. Plus, we run a lot of the content online as well.
  19. I've never seen them on a Lupo, in fact I don't think I've seen them on anything yet and I got to quite a lot of shows. They may need a bit of spacing, but will worry about that when the car is lowered
  20. That's what I think also. I'd love to get originals, but SSR XR4 wheels are not exactly cheap. And I think they look a little bit like Starmags, so should suit it.
  21. Yep, that would be very VW but where's the fun in that?
