  1. Hi fellas and felleretas! Right. Slightly strange issue, my drivers door lock won't lock via the central locking, it only locks when the lock is physically locked via the key. All the other features work tho, so when the drivers side door lock is locked then the rest of the central locking works! The drivers door lock has been replaced but I doubt that would affect it :/ if anyone has any suggestions it would be massively appreciated! Another thing is that my sunroof doesn't work, it's got a live feed of 12v and a signal feed which is considerably lower, I've replaced the motor and the switch and still nothing! Thanks in advance, Matt.
  2. Nice, what height are u running? Creaky in what sense?
  3. What did you think of the kw v1's??? I'm saving the money for them now not cheap!!
  4. No point in buying coilovers unless you can justify having them, as in using then for track use, which is what they're designed for :L in my opinion Go the spring and damper route if you're set on a height and happy with it, or be a p*key and just get new springs but this'll kill the dampers really quickly. If you don't have much money too spend then best bet is springs and dampers, WHATEVER YOU DO. AVOID JOM COILOVERS. They're horrendous, kill all ride quality and they completely screw how the car performs, you might aswell weld in a bar where your spring and damper should be. Worst things anyone can ever put on a car. best place too look would be on kam racing or even just google "lupo sport lowering springs" and see what it gets you, best advice is YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. If you spend pittance then it'll most probably be crap! AP are good in my opinion
  5. There's a definitive thread about coilovers on this forum, look for it and it'll tell u everything u need to know about coilovers and the best and what people's opinions are, I'm planning on doing the same with the g60 steelies with the brake upgrade and then coilovers. Best place to look would be this thread; forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/48860-definitive-coilover-thread/ Personally I'm saving for some KWV1's as they're the cheapest of the KW's and are a set damping rate etc, you shouldn't go for adjustable unless you really know what you're on about and also have the other mods that'll justify the adjustable damping. Tbh you don't need the adjustable damping unless you have adjustable rebound but then you're looking at about 900+ for some coilovers. Bit off on a tangent I know . With the focus I'm presuming you bought budget coilovers? Worst idea possible considering it will completely screw with how the car handles, as you probably know. The worse thing you could do to the lupo is to fit JOM or other budget coilovers, they're **** in every manner. Have you thought about updated springs and dampers? Coz if you're not tracking the car (as in track use) then they're pretty pointless and just flashy :L and very expensive when compared to a good set of springs and dampers. In my opinion read the thread linked and then consider springs and dampers, you can get good ones for around 400-600 quid which is still a lot less than coilovers! Sorry about the huge reply I know I waffle on in the middle! But coilovers aren't really worth it unless you drive like senna. Also if u are upgrading the suspension then get some top end tyres as the tyre affects the suspension in a huge way!
  6. How does she handle? I'm thinking of doing this with my black sport next year! But then it got me thinking that it'll just be like a red top corsa on handling :/ and I love the handling on the current set up! (1.4 sport)
  7. Anyone own the black lupo following me on the m25? I'm a black lupo sport :3
  8. I havent tried moving it manually but the motor doesn't turn, even when disconnected from the roof but all wired in :/
  9. Right, I've searched the forum but can't find anything like this, I've got a 1.4 sport lupo with a sunroof. It hasn't worked at all since owning the car so I've replaced the motor and switch, still doesn't work, the sunroof is getting 12.48v from the permanent live and about 4.7v from a single wire of some description.. Anyone know what could be causing the issue? Thanks. Matt.
  10. Aha ouch! Linkage would fit but that wouldn't be causing the leak, definitely need that bolt back through the steady and back into the gear box, I couldn't say from experience but I'm pretty sure they should fit, try and get another one from the same spec lupo, try and find the leak as well, what colour is the oil? Try and get the gear box back in line, it'll probably be reallllly fecking annoying considering you'll have to loosen things off and try again :/
  11. Aha let me paint u a picture! If I'm correct then the bolt that was left out that goes thought this "leg" is the rear bottom engine steady that also doubles up as an engine to gearbox fixing, itll look like a long bolt with another thread on the other end that a nut would sit on? sadly too say mate but you will need that bolt. It'll be an absolute dog too do as well as I made the same mistake it seems your friend did.. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Any who! Onto the main issue, it's actually quite easy too do as all the little bits are quite accessible, I mean I'm 6ft 4 and not exactly small and managed it alright!, basically it's trial and error, if I had a picture it would be so much easier to explain! But basically you'll have a set up of arms and joints and there will be two bolts that can be undone and adjusted, these are the two you need to play with, it'll be trial and error mainly but it'll take no time at all when u realise what bits u can adjust, where abouts are u mate? Coz if you're local to sunny Sussex then ill just pop over and do show you!
  12. Or if you have any issues then give me a ring, ill pm you my number
  13. First off, GET THAT BOLT BACK IN. (Appologies if you already have ) only reason is that if your gearbox slips or shears another bolt and moves then it could easily destroy your flywheel, and trust me, one of those flying out of the car at high velocity is scary!!! Now onto your problem, if you're mechanically minded then this'll be reallllyyy easy Get your car in the air. Get under the front of the car and look at the back of the gear box, you should see a shiny pin coming out of the gearbox, this will be connected to your gear shifter, with a pin and then a clevis pin, then there will be a series of bolts and Arms, that when moved, move the gear shifter, by the sounds of it all you need too do is realign the bolts I had the same issue when I did my clutch but only because I didn't do it up tight enough! If you have any issues then throw some pics up of your gearbox + selector and ill have a nose GOOD LUCK! Also, which gearbox mounting bolt???? I'm thinking the one at the rear of the engine that goes through the engine steady but let me know
  14. Hi there, know you've all probably had this asked before BUT. I couldn't find anything and some info would be really handy! Recently bought a 1.4 sport. It's absolutely amazing and I love it. (Upgraded to it from a 1.0E) I was playing around with it and noticed a few things... Firstly, when I push the drivers door lock button (which should lock all the doors, correct?) the drivers side doesn't lock. Also if I lock the car from the passengers side door then the drivers doesn't lock.. The led next to the alarm never flashes either :S it's had a new drivers door lock which isn't the same as the rest? I'm just wondering if there's some wiring not attached properly or do I need to replace something??? I was also thinking of firstly swapping the standard lock from the passengers side into the drivers door and then blanking it off, same with the boot lock, and then fitting a central locking kit from rclicks to allow me to have the key fob? What do u guys think? Any advice/pointers would be amazing! Also wondering, does it actually have an alarm???????? Thanks! Thanks. Matt.
  15. Right. Does anyone know the difference between the gti chassis (which is a 6e I believe) and the lupo 1.0 chassis (I believe it to be 6x)??? As I've been offered some lupo gti coilovers and I've only got the 1.0 anyone know if they'd fit???
  16. Ah, mine was coz the bottom engine steady bolt was jammed :/ got it re-cut and then ima be fitting tonight perhaps or tomorrow morning
  17. Checked everything, it engages but the engine won't spin over at all, not by hand either, it's taking the current for the starter motor as well so assuming flywheel jammed :/ x
  18. Hey fellas! Right. I've changed the clutch on my 1.0 lupo, got that all in and done and now the sodding thing won't start, get all lights and dials and the starter motor engages when I turn the key, I'm presuming I've missed a connection somewhere and that's the cause of it, just wanted to know if you guys have any other ideas? Many thanks!!! Matt.
  19. Aha hell no it's not that looks horrendous! I was going by previous experience with welding, if you are welding then i would say DO NOT do a full seam in one go coz that would definitely do you in, although I have yet to weld it so obviously my info is limited
  20. One query with this. Any chance you'll warp the bonnet? Welding on to thin metal usually means the heat of the welder with morph the metal slighty :/

    Newbie!

Hi there, got my second car today! Obviously it's a lupo :3 sadly the 1.0E 1999 reg I'm a budding mechanic so I will most probably have to play with the lupo a little but! Definitely want a VDub look but I'm unsure whether to get at least a 1.4 before lowering and all that jazz! My other rides an original mini mpi that I'm restoring I'm also studying motorsports at degree level at Brighton uni! Anyway! Just saying hi! Matt
