  1. 6.5" or narrower is what most peoples setups are.
  2. who quoted you £15+vat fitting? is having a laugh. should be half that or less. i always find mytyres cheapest for tyres, havent ever had them taken long to arrive and you can take the tyres to any local independent tyre fitters. i pay £7 per tyre fitting/balance/valves/disposal. also wonder why you chose 195 because there is more choice when you chose a dunlop, which is on the 205/45 size anyway lol. you local fitting centre probably ordered them from mytyres aswell (and charged a £12 fitting fee) which still gives them a decent profit. £48 for 10 mins work.
  3. you could call a vw dealer in europe if you speak any euro languages. or hope they speak english. then they could post you the kit.
  4. its a 1.0 for those that like to know these things. maybe its a saftey car for an audio sponsored motorbike event. at night.
  5. i'd rather see a spastic band. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" />
  6. ok is it white on a snowy day. i dont fall for that school prank.
  7. indeed you are correct early gti were 5 speed. and shortly after the early ones came the later ones, which were 6 speed. we were to late for the 4 speed ones, and we are yet to have the 7 speed ones. the 3 speed ones are right out. i think if you had a vw badge on the air filter it might do the engine a disservice in the way it breathes, you would probably loose some ponies. if that is option then i certainly would not choose it. yes..... gram saving is a multi million £ technical area. driveshaft weights can vary by 1000's of grams. indeed such is the power of grams, that 5 of the buggers can balance a wheel at kwik fit.
  8. i mean have you asked audi dealer for a replacement audi set not vw. so you can get the part code on the set you already have. its non uk part for the lupo.
  9. thanks i got it now, its very nice. i have to wait another week from now until the sparco frame/runners get to me. should be good.
  10. i'm certainly not against caution. i maybe tempted to stay at 50k/5 years again, but i may change sooner, it is better to get it done rather than worry about it. one things for sure, i already have in my mind that i will still own my gti in 5 years time style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  11. as title says, i had a new cambelt kit fitted today. 2 belts and 4 tensioners/pulleys. i asked the garage to save the old parts for me, they had done 51k miles in my GTI and 5 years old. and there looked absolutely nothing wrong with them, no signs of wear. the smaller of the 2 belts had alternating wear marks on the top surface, but looked merely cosmetic, the structure was as new and the toothed sections perfect. so i conclude that a 50k interval between timing parts changes is fine. the parts would have easily coped well beyond 60K i dont doubt.
  12. schrick.com and sorgmotorsport.de
  13. it makes me feel good i can list an optional extra on my car as black paint. lol.
  14. they do 2 versions for the gti and non gti. 304 grade stainless, 63mm/2.5" main bore. from previous searches on clublupo seems packaging was poor and damaged in transit so i have asked them about that. and also for some pictures of the system. i also emailed milltek. "Many thanks for your interest in Milltek Sport products. We do not currently offer a system for the Lupo GTI I am afraid, though we may develop a system later in the year. Any updates will be posted on our website www.millteksport.com." so as someone said on clublupo before there still might be a milltek system to hold out for, which would be better as its a uk product.
  15. no its cast iron, but with an alloy head. its a heavy lump. thats why they lightened up the front with alu panels.
  16. is the 1.4 an iron block aswell? gti is heavier also upfront from 6 speed box. bigger driveshafts/flywheel/clutch probably.
  17. no adverts or your not telling me? lol.
  18. yes, but on the other side the shorter the run the less numbers on the road.
  19. can someone tell me if sky movies HD has adverts during the movie?
  20. yeah thats what i meant its leaking as it wasnt sealed after removing it. nothing has gone wrong with the car.
  21. it wouldnt be covered under warranty anyway as nothing has gone wrong has it? the leak is just because it hasnt been sealed properly, in which case its not a repair its just a service labor request. which needs to be paid for. parts and labor
  22. i thought you can totally dismantle your engine and put it back together and still be under warranty. aslong as the gaskets/parts you use are approved?
  23. i'm interested in this exhaust also. i emailed them to ask for more detail on it and if they made it for the 1.6 gti or the other models.
