  6. Hi Rich, Thanks for the reply. Nothing is wrong with the gearbox, I don't think that the level has ever been checked in the 30,000 miles the car has covered. WS
  7. Good afternoon, Could someone let me know where the gearbox level/fill and drain plugs are on the 6 speed gearbox and the spanner I will need to undo them. Many thanks WS

  10. Just checked and there are still no codes. Would appear the breather pipe heater is to blame. Will give TPS a call to see if I need a mortgage to buy a new one. The part number is 036906391A. I will update the thread when I have some further news. WS
  11. UPDATE. Took the car out today. Checked and can report- no codes and fuse number 30 intact. Will report later this week, when the car has been out again. WS
  12. Lupogtiboy, Found the little blighter. Removed it from the rubber breather pipe. It has very low resistance but could see nothing obvious. Put it back leaving it disconnected. Replaced the fuse, no 30 & 5 amp. Cleared the codes, run the enginge. All clear. Just need to do a longer drive to see what happens. I will report back later in the week. Any idea where I can get a copy of ELSA? WS
  13. Thanks again lupogtiboy, I'll take a look at the weekend and let you know. Incidentally, do you know where I can get a full circuit diagram(s) for the car? WS
  14. Any codes on the ecu? WS
  15. Oh! bugger. Took the car out for a longer run today. Checked the codes and 17935 & 16394 were back. Also the fuse had blown. Is there anything else on this circuit? Any help appreciated. The old woman is grumpy! WS
  16. Lupogtiboy, Totally my fault in missing you off the thank you list. Please accept my apologies. If you're ever up this way, I'll buy you a beer. All he best. WS
  17. Right on the money Danoid. Found a 5 amp fuse that had blown. Checked the evap valve and that is working correctly. Thanks a million. An old woman is now very happy! WS
  18. Thanks Danoid for the help. I have checked the wiring which appears to be OK and then replaced the sensor but am still getting the same fault codes. Can anyone help? WS
  19. Good evening, The engine management light on the Gti came on today. I have scanned and have 3 error codes. Two point to the camshaft position sensor or the wiring. Is it the sensor on top of the cam cover towards the timing belt end of the engine? The codes are 17935 and 16374 which could mean a wiring issue or a failed sensor. The third is 17833 which points to the purge valve on the EVAP cannister- short to earth. Never heard of this component, so where is it? Any help would be appreciated. WS
  20. Are there any codes on the ecu? WS
  21. Take off the door card and replace the switches. WS
  22. Afternoon, Is anyone aware of a mod to fit these to a Lupo GTi? WS
  23. Before you renew the window winder motor, check the window switches. The are a known problem. Wee Sprocket
