  1. Cheers guys. Had a look on eBay but there is all sorts of different ones haha, what kind of each would I need for a mk1 1.4 arosa? Cheers, joe
  2. Basically, my coolant gauge on the dash has never really worked properly since i got the new car. What happens is, you turn the car on, all is well, you get driving, and even after 20 minutes the coolant gauge never rises? BUT it does rise if your sitting still in traffic? So im guessing its the coolant temp sensor? and i also think it'll be affecting my MPG as the car wont be registering the engine is warmed up so it'll be dumping fuel into it to stop it from stalling? Any suggestions, cheers guys Joe
  3. Let them settle and then swap them over, see if it makes any difference?
  4. Right so I got the tracking done for £20 Idealy needs the camber sorted out too but my dad didnt have the time to wait for the garage to do it so its only really half done :/ how easy to sort out camber yourself? and will it throw the tracking out (toe)? washed the beast today and the method was.. pressure wash to get most of the crap off, snow foam, pressure wash, 2BM, rinse, snowfoam, pressure wash, dry didnt do any polish or waxing but it could be done with it doing. anyway snapped some pictures, unfortenatly they dont show how its sitting at the moment with the 40mm all round springs on but whatever. (Zoomed in on shoddy ipod so excuse the quality) Enjoy Joe
  5. I think it goes like this The front mud flaps should have a little slot at the bottom of them to fit over the sill. They do however need different arch liners (I think) because the original ones come up infront of the sill which means the mudflap won't sit properly. You could just cut the old arch liner to make it fit. The mudflaps sit on top of the arch liner and only have like 2-3 screws holding them on. The little tab at the top should have a metal clip. Un clip it, then place the tab on top of the liner and push into the arch itself (if they aren't rolled) then the metal clip should slot onto the plastic tab making it so it cannot undo. If you have rear ones. They are pretty straight forward as they only need to tuck under the bumper and screwed in place Hope it helps pal
  6. Disaster!! One of my front shocks blown Luckily I had the original front shocks and matching 40mm front springs as a spare courtesy of the previous owner so all is well, me and dad got the buggers changed in an hour and a half after spending most of the looking for a 7mm hex... who the f*ck owns these!! Anyway, the car has complete 40mm springs on now It's sat a bit higher than I would like but they were free so who cares, the previous front coilovers were secondhand when the previous owner put them on so god knows what they've been through! Only dilemma is now it seriously needs the tracking done so dad is gonna take it to the garage nearby tomorrow and get that done while im at work I'll take some pictures and put them up of what it sits like now when it has settled for a bit Cheers, Joe
  7. So I've changed the spark plugs and leads but it's still got a very inconsistent rough idle? Any ideas? Joe
  8. Cheers pal ideally needs a god machine polish to get ride of the scratches, struggling to find the time due to me and my grandad having different work hours :/
  9. Haha cheers Could it look meaner with some lightly dark tinted lights and fogs? or even yellow, if you can?
  10. At last!! My laptop is fixed, so it is now picture time Not perfect but enjoy anyway So here is when I first picked it up and took it home next to the old one, Which my dad has now bought off me so I haven't got rid of it that easy haha First thing I done was swap my wheels and radio over Not too low With or without centre caps? Put the rear mud flaps on Also Krum needed some new front brakes so a small trip to the internet and bought these Also used the Turtle Wax Black Box. All I can say is fantastic! I would say it's only to be used after a good machine polish as it is rubbish at filling in scratches even though it's black tinted but apart from that it's brilliant, goes on and comes off quicker than saying because and really transforms the car, I was amazed anyway. Don't have any pictures of the during process as my hands were covered in black but here's some after shots. On the bonnet. Here is the difference.. on the door you can see the paint is all sort of cloudy and greyish, on the left panel is after using the pre wax and wax. Also, I would have machine polished it with my grandad but he got called out to work and I didn't have the balls to do it incase I screwed up haha Some nice outside shots after the wax session. ^^ Fiancees cat BEADING! My 2nd favourite shot of the new car Not low low, but low enough to just scrape on paving The convoy Favourite and last pit of the car mid interior clean Sorry for the essay of a post and the very large pictures, also all of them are ipod quality. Comments always welcomed, even bad ones, Getting the advice out of the way... I know the rear end needs to come down Cheers, Joe
  11. Skoda also have this orgasmic looking beast http://www.eurocarblog.com/post/7523/skoda-citigo-rally-worthersee-tour
  12. Whe I first started mine was 2k for 6 months January just gone for my 1.0 arosa it was down to £479 with 3 years ncb. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and deal with it unfortanetly
  13. So was wondering if the mg zr wheels would fit as the PCD is 4x100 but unfortunately the centre bore is too small. So I was wondering, which cars have centre bores at 57.1 or bigger so you can spigot ring them? Also with PCD 4x100? Cheers, joe
  14. The other stuff I need help pricing up is a Mk2 Arosa Steering Wheel with same wear on the top and left side. Cheers guys
  15. So when I bought my new car I got a load f stuff with it for free but I don't think I'm gonna need any of it so it's gonna be up for sale either on here or ebay soon and was just wondering about the prices for some of the stuff that I'll be selling. I have: Parcel shelf in light grey, very good condition with only slight wear which is only noticeable if you're looking for it. Seat Arosa Mk1 Front lights including indicators. The front lights could do with a clean but are in good used condition and have no cracks in them although one the driver side one has a missing clip. The indicators are brand new and unused as far as I'm aware and they also come in their original boxes. Seat Arosa Mk1 Rear lights. These are in good condition as they have no cracks or chips in them. They do need a clean but not much. They do NOT come with bulbs, one of them is missing a screw but I will have one by the time they sell. Front fog light, haven't checked which side it's from yet though. It is a bit dirty but a good clean and it will be perfect. It does need new wires that go into it as they have been cut for some reason but obviously if it is for a replacement then it won't matter as you will already have the wire. I also have a genuine Seat Ice Scraper with the old 'S' design, it is discoloured but there are no chunks missing from it and it does come with the rubber scraper as well There is also some more stuff but I will have to go through it all and post it up later. I can put pictures up if these will help but they will have to wait for a while. Thank you to everyone who replies and sorry if this is in the wrong section. Joe
  16. I love this car. Seriously thinking about buying one in 3-4 years. Shame it doesn't have the wider Arches like a lupo gti. Still looks awesome though
  17. You can buy BMW replacements and you can also get bbs replacements off eBay. Fairly expensive though for what they are
  18. I used castrol magnatec 5w 30 in mine. I seem a difference. A lot smoother
  19. I had a 1.0 arosa and just recently moved to a 1.4 arosa and have completely fell in love again. As other people say if I was doing loads of miles I'd get the tdi but if you want something cheap and a quicker nip about car then the normal 1.4 I'd go for. I seen a huge difference in performance, and I'm hoping the fuel economy shouldn't get lower than 35mpg with reasonable driving
  20. Same as joe. NFU are brill. They gave me 1NCB just for 6months ensurance. All mods declared at no extra cost as they weren't "performance" modifications. And I can drive other cars 3rd party. And I'm only 19.
  21. No it wasn't the VW alloys, they were my own but I go round them all with a torque wrench anyway so either I missed one or something happened :/ anyway, haven't driven anywhere yet so I don't know if it was the problem, we shall see later on. Lesson learnt anyway, triple check wheel bolts
  22. Jacked the car up this morning and had a look at the rear left and lucky I did because 2 wheel bolts were loose and wobbling everywhere so now hoping the rotational grindy noise wasn't the drums and just the loose wheel. Don't fancy driving around on 3 wheels hahs
