  1. Again forgive me if I am repeating other people...Your car is a metallic isnt it? If they are puting a new wing on it they will need to blend the colour into the door...you say they are painting all the parts off the car and not fitting them untill you are happy? This would worry me...STAY CLEAR! Also for your information there is no differance in prepping and painting Aluminium from Steel, its only the repair techniques (sp?) that are different so dont let them make out that the work carried out on your car is going to be better than at places that dont deal with Alloy.
  2. Forgive me if I am saying what others have said but I couldnt be arsed to read all the previous posts! The VW dealership should have an onsite Accident Repair Centre or an off site one they recommend, having the repairs done there should not invalidate your VW anti corrosion. Its more to do with the paint used as to whether an Accident Repair Centre gets dealer approved. But going by the fact that your car was a demo car for the dealer then the ARC they are using is obviously quite happy to bodge and they are not worthy of Dealer Approved status, get a refund, save your money and look out for another GTi. Getting an AA or RAC check done might have picked up on some of these problems. There are also lots of things that you can do yourself, check the gaps, check for differances in sealers from one side to the other, check for differances in the paint finish and try rubbing your hand over the panels, if you feel little peices of what feels like grains of sand then that is a good indication of a resprayed panel that has not been flatted and polished. Try to check trims for poor fittings and look round the interior pull handles to see if something has been used to pull the outer part off to expose the screws for removal. Hope this helps, if you need any more advice please PM me, that goes for all of you guys. Sly
  3. It is possible with some altering of the wiring
  4. But they dont do an Arosa Gti do they?
  5. What do you guys think? border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
  6. I would ask the Stealer that exact question!
  7. Ok guys thanks to everyone who replied to my post to give me the symptoms of a Pedal Box Failure, I now know that mine is on its way out. I rang the Stealer here on the Isle of Wight and they were most unhelpfull (what do we expect!!) First the numpty on the phone told me that it was a problem on the Polo and not the Lupo! I then told him about this site and that there are people on here who have had the same problem. He then told me that because I have not had a FSH at that garage it might not be sorted for free as they would have been able to pick it up as they check them when they service a car! Considering he said that its not a problem on the Lupo its quite suprising that they would check the pedal box during a service!! Then I was told that they would need the car for a WEEK so that they could take pics and send them off! After telling him that we need the car so the wife can get to work he has agreed for me to drop it off on Monday morning and collect it in the evening. This is where I need your help, all of you who have had the Pedal Box replaced or repaired by either yourselves or a Stealer please can you reply to this topic with the Garage who did the work for you, if you did it yourself then I will just count you on my list to show numpty at the local stealers that it IS a problem on the loop too! Thanks guys.
  8. This is the cover for the fuel tank sender unit or pump.
  9. So how is the pedalbox failure sorted then?

Plus whatever the inner quarter panels are?
  11. There is not a plate on the engine, it will just have the number stamped onto the block
  12. Have you asked them if they can use the engine number? If not just tell them to stop being stupid and order the parts!
  13. I think the best bet would be to change the bulbs back and check for the leaking water, water can be a real pain with car electrics...just one more question have you checked the rear lamps? I think on a Lupo the wiring for the lamps crosse over, so a bad earth on the right hand rear lamp can make funny things go on with the left had front lamp, also have you fitted Arosa lamps? If you have make sure that both the bulbs in the red circle part of them are twin filament (sidelight and stoplight) bulbs as these also form part of the earth circuit.
  14. Only on the bodyshell I think mate, only an engine number on the block normally, what do you need to order?
  15. I think its only the side light bulbs she has changed!
  16. Put your sidelight bulbs back to how they were and see if that helps...Im convinced its an earth problem
  17. I reckon it could be either a relay or a bad earth, have you or have you had the enginebay cleaned? If so water could cause a bad connection on an earth lead. Bad earths can cause so many problems and the indicator problem you have could be one of them...have you had the car repaired recently?
  18. Can anyone tell me what the symptoms of a pedalbox failure on a Lupo are? I thought my clutch was on its way, I have ordered a new clutch but Im now worried it might be this? Also my local stealer says that you need to replace the flywheel with the clutch on a Lupo...is this **** or true? I have never heard of this before style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />
  19. No...the only thing to do is to go round your local fitters and get prices, they will differ from one part of the country to another.
  20. I always went to HiQ to have my tyres fitted to my 16 I had on my Golf, they were the only people I could trust not to scratch the wheels!!
  21. The gears are not crunching anymore! But I am going to get the clutch replaced as soon as the clutch arrives!
  22. I think that the 11th character in the chassis number tells you where it was made and if its W then its a Wolfsberg...as is my Sport
  23. Its on its way out! The missus was driving the loop when it refused to change into gear! Gotone of the guys from work to go and recover the Loop and have a look at it. He managed to adjust the clutch so it drives and a new clutch is on order, just out of intrest though does anyone know if the 1.4 Sport (petrol) has a self adjusting clutch? I have heard that the bearing in the adjuster is prone to collapsing???
  24. WanabeGangster...They are on about SMART repairs I think, I have seen a few done where they blow in the local area and use swage lines to loose the paint edge, the obvious problem is colour match. And just to clear up for all of those who dont have a metallic car that a blend into the next panel is not nesecerry.

If you are getting the quarter panels replaced on your arosa then you might want to check if you will need inner arches aswell...its gonna be a big job!
