  1. right the thing is that the 256mm setup is the same as the polo mk4 16v, someone has tried to put some g60 carriers onto the 16v hubs and the whole thing didn't line up.......
  2. you will be fine, your warranty is only invalid on the stuff you mod, i mean i have about £4k worths of mods on mine as they still do all the things under warranty.

    brake fluid needs to be changed every 40k or every 2 yrs, which ever comes first so they won't do that on your car, they will only change the oil and filter and a few bits and bob's.

  5. i think you should stick to the standard one, i tested a pipercross filter and a standard one in my car on the rollers and there was no difference bewteen the 2, noise difference wasn't there either, but the big shock of the day was when i put the car on the rollers with the k&n induction kit it gave me `4-6bhp` less!

L take my advice ok ask your mum to write you a letter to the service manager and tell him that you have been treated like crap and the fact that they can't seem to sort your window out even though they know that the motor is in need of replacing, tell them that you have to drive 30mins to the dealers and this is inconvient seeing as you have to work ( i know you don't but they don't know that) and also its a waste diesel, if you do that then they will get their act together, and you know why i know? because my local dealers messed me about 3 times with my new steering column and i got my aunt to write me a letter and she gave them a bollocking and in return they gave me a nice BORA 150BHP Diesel as a courtesy car plus the service manger came out and spoke to me and said was personally going to keep an eye on my car for me to make sure the work would be done and he has also told me that when my `cam-belt` needs to be changed he will sort me a discount to cover the petrol costs. write that letter!! trust me on this one.
  10. no worries, just be safe and double check with the vw dealers, mine cambelt is due soon, well 5k miles time as i have put 75k on the car since aug 1999
  11. what engine is it? the 1.4 16v has to be done at 80k, it was 60k but vw raised it to 80k, if you unsure then you are best rechecking with your vw dealer.
  12. it happened on mine and all the water that was meant to be washing my rear window was int he passengers rear foot well, i bet its all rusted under there now!

  15. only 5k? a service usually is after 10k miles or every yr depending on which comes first.
  16. right, if you get a oil breather filter you will get a oil smell as the crankcase will be letting out oil smoke through the filter so that will make matters worst, i had a k&n induction kit on and has a pipercross oil breather filter and everytime i stopped the car stunk of oil. you have to feed the breather into the main filter so that all the crap coming out gets plugged back into the engine via the throttle body. check if your pipe to the induction kit is tighten fitted and isn't leaking.

  20. yes but the thickness might be different, the lupos could be 18mm and the gti's could be 20/22mm but i aint sure, but i am sure they are 256's.
