  1. Thats the only thing i dislike about hydro's, no presets or ride height display!
  2. Before I start, this isn't going to be another one of these 'I have £500 where can I get this done' kinda threads, I've thought about this a lot on and off for the past year and I think I'm going to go for it over the next year so basically this is my list of things so far: Engine (thinking AUQ due to DBW throttle) Gearbox (think I need an o2j) Pedalbox (for hydraulic clutch, lupo TDI/GTI?) Driveshafts Mounts Loom FMIC Boost pipes Exhaust Shallow Sump (eventually) Brakes (sport rear beam and the G60 upgrade) Cambelt and water pump (may as well do them while engine's out) ECU de-immobilised I guess there's probably loads I'm missing, I'm fairly handy with a welder, and I have a mate who is VERY handy at fabricating things so if there's anything that needs doing it can be done I know it will take a while, I'm not expecting in and out in a week, just wondering what else I'll need, rough time frame etc thanks guys! Dan
  3. Yeah its not worth it so much then! I drive mine daily but ive found i drive lower now because i know i can get over the bumps!
  4. Hopefully they'll be with you by the weekend!
  5. I know its not exactly the same, but putting mine on hydro's was the best money ive spent on it, by far!
  6. I might have some at home after the hydraulics were fitted, ill have a look when im at home!
  7. I'll keep an eye out for your car!

yeah you probably can, but i've got no room left in the boot so its just as easy to get a plug to pop up and just plug her in every weekend or two!
  9. Anyone going to players this weekend? First outing for the lupo with the hydraulics!

Nah not unless you're mega mega switch happy or have crap batteries! Mine dropped 2 volts over a week and i've raised and dropped it over 100 times in that week to show people, id probably say i could get 3 or 4 weeks out of one charge, but people say its a pain charging it but every week or two park up at night, plug it in and youre full by the morning, simples!
  11. Im sure if i'd got a bigger alternator i could wire it in to do it, but with the tiny lupo alternator i wouldnt want to overload it!

Yeah i know what you mean, i agree air is probably a hell of a lot of a nicer ride, and i know what you mean about the tank holding pressure, but if you wanted to play about and go up and down say 10 times or whatever you'd eventually run out, whereas with hydro's you'll never have to worry (as long as the battery's charged) both have their plus points, just depends what you want as your outcome i suppose!
  13. Well im fairly switch happy, and i lost probably 2 volts over the course of a week, mainly showing off to my mates, up and down probably 100 times?
  14. Not every night, im gunma charge it once a week over the weekend, but it depends how switch happy you are, some people go 3 or 4 weeks without charging their systems!
  15. I can get a video tomorrow for you! There's a flow control valve on the pump so i've got it adjusted to lower slowly because i think it looks smoother, but I can adjust that and try to get it to bounce!

Hydraulics arent as bad as what people always think, id compare mine to both sets of coilovers ive had (fk's and jom's) but i will agree the higher up you go the rougher it gets! Its worth seeing if you can get a ride in a car with both so you can get an idea of what they feel like, I personally went for hydro's because I cant be bothered to wait for the air tank to fill up, its just instant, but again its a personal choice
  17. Cheers guys! Never realised quite how practical it would be, loving it already! Just need some skinnier wheels and the arch liner got rid of and i'll be mega tucking!
  18. £2500 give or take |: it rides much the same as coilovers, as you get higher up it rides a lot harsher, but its nice, and no you can't do presets, and there's no way of knowing how high you are, that's the downside of hydo's, but I guess i'll learn how many switch flicks are what height etc as I go along
  19. yeah so I got her back! Loving it so much! UP: DOWN: FLUSH: It's virtually on the floor at the front, the only thing limiting the movement now is the width of the wheels and tyres due to catching on the arch lining!
  20. Not that anyone seems to read this anyway, but my top mounts arrived today and the hydro's are 100% done, tracking being done tomorrow at 12 and ill be leaving here just after 2 hopefully to go pick her up! So so so excited! Pictures tomorrow!
  21. Ive got some hertz coaxials in my loop, they are so good!
  22. Yeah so I had a call from Ray yesterday to say the hydro's are all done and dusted, car's going up and down as expected, just waiting on new top mounts from vw as mine are a bit shagged, hopefully to be at the stealership near him today so woke up this morning all excited ready to pick the car up but no, no top mounts gotta wait 'til Monday or Tuesday now due to not being delivered to the stealers! Gutted cus I wanted to be out bouncing today!
  23. oh I will, thats just reminded me i need to clear the car out, still got a drum kit in it from band practice D:
