You should plastic weld its the sensible option and there is little chance of it cracking compared to filler and fiber glass alone, believe plastic welding isnt too difficult either.

Hi, Bought a set of 14 " banded steels 7.5j fronts and 8j rears, et 19 and eet 13 and assuming that the arches will need to be rolled as the vw lupo is quite low Could any of you recommend or know of any arch rolling services, possibly mobile services perhaps in the north east area preferably closer to Newcastle. Was making sure I got the colour right, the colour is lp3g i think but I will make sure, although if I get the door painted there isnt much of a point getting a new one, but my brother who is a mechanic learning may have some contacts and I should be able to get it done for a reasonable price. The car is the red but the plan is to polish it with a very fine compound and hopefully it will blend in.

Hi, So heres the problem, some one screwed the bumpstrip to my vw lupo and there is a dent at the edge of the door. It seems that it would be cheaper to replace the door with one the same colour of getting the entire door resprayed. The question is will a seat arosa 2003 door fit a vw lupo 2000 and are the fittings such as the wing mirrors and such the same? Thanks in advance, bb

Hi guys, Have a few questions that I hope someone can enlighten me and maybe some others on the vw lupo gearbox and vw lupo bumpstrips. Question 1. Could someone tell me what can be done to fix a vw lupo gearbox? Lupo gearboxes are notorious for failing but I am still a little curious. It changes smoothly in all gears except when I change DOWN from fifth to fourth it will not directly engage, I have to go up into third gear and then into fourth. Going from fourth to fifth is alright but I cant figure out what is causing it. I have tried researching but because thses gearboxes create hassle it is difficult to find an answer relevan to the problem. We seen somewhere that if you fix or replace the gear linkage it should fix the problem but I am wondering if some can help? Question 2. A while ago the driver's side bumpstrip fell off to reveal a metal strip screwed into the door? Was this done to some vw lupos or did someone do a bodge on the door? I am not sure if they are all screwed on and I am afraid to remove the rest for the time being until someone can offer some info. Apologies for the long post but these little things have been annoying me for a while now and it would be nice to fix them or at least try. Thanks in advance, Jake.

The speedometer works fine but unfortunately it needs replacing due to someone breaking a section of it.

Hi guys, Was wondering as the speedometer on the vw lupo tdi is a bit broken at the moment and I was trying to find another one to replace it. There are none for sale at the moment but there are many polo tdi clocks for sale. Is it possible to use a polo tdi clock in a vw lupo of the same year, they are both identical except the polo speedometer goes to 140 instead of 120, will this be an issue? Tried to research but couldnt find much about it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance and take it easy

Could do with some help on this too as I want to lower the tdi. Was thinking of getting lowering springs but was afraid something would have happened similar to you. But I would like to know what coilovers would be nice (and reasonable) for a tdi. Would get coilovers I think, makes more sense I believe.

Thats awesome. Sweet makes it easier dealing wih rivets would be difficult.

Thanks I read somewhere that only lupo gti's have rivets but not many people have lupo tdi's so who knows what will be under mine lol. The pictures would really help and will see if the seal can be removed tomorrow as the B pillar's are looking a bit bad now that the car has been cleaned today.

Hi peoples, Have researched it but dont understand entirely. I was wondering would someone be able to tell me how to remove the B pillar trims from the lupo as they are a bit worn. As far as it goes I know you wind down the window but after a little fiddling with the rubber seal I cant seem to get it off. Does anyone have any pictures of which rubber seal to remove and how to remove it? This probably is a bit of a stupid question but any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance dudes. Peace.

Hi, Have a vw lupo 1.4tdi and im eighteen years old, the way I was insured for starters was to go on my Dads insurance for £680 but I think the co-op car insurance do it for about £1500 or around there. Heard that Elephant insurance is cheap too, good luck and have fun, I love my tractor and its pretty quick too

This lupo is a nice starting car and black is one of the best colours for lupos

Think it would be alright, there is fabric spray paint too I think, have a look it could stop the crispy thing happening... lol
