  1. the yellow band a sticker or painted on?
  2. the switch is attached to the door lock mech, i thought they might have ben removable, but i took one of an arosa mk1 yesterday to take a look and they are rivited. looks like they operate when the latch is fully closed around the striker. the one i took off the arosa had one of the pins in the power connection corroded away easy to see how, bit of a poope design, easy for water and damp to get into the contacts and rot them away. got to do my check strap soon, will look further then
  3. if thats the case does that mean changing the door lock assembly? or does the switch detatch from it?
  4. mines a T plate '99, probably a prototype its so early thanks
  5. when the passenger side door is opened? ive got a billy basic lupo E, no cl, no pas etc it comes on when i open the drivers door, but it never has since ive had it (last august) when the passenger side door is opened, i put this down to it being desert spec, any ideas? ive olny now got around to fixing the niggly little problems, and this is on my "ceck and fix" list fankoo people
  6. i payd £450 for my 1L loop with 129k on it, had 6mnths T&T also 2 owners, bargain, still going strong, now at 131k
  7. you say it is cured, but i would still check...... the crank breather system is common for filling with mayo, remove and clean if possible, or a new one will be needed. Forte oil flush and an oil/filter change. clean out the air box and fit a new air filter, also clean the throttle body whaile your there. get it re adapted with vagcom. what milage has the car done out of interest?
  8. agreed. looks like you have driven over a comedy barbell
  9. the problem will be the switch on the drivers side for operating the pass side, quite common, im sure there is a fix sticky on here somewhere for it. if you can here a noise on the drivers side when the switch is opertated then its deffo something in the door you need to look at, wouldnt like to hazzard a guess as to what. door card off and have a look
