After a long palava involving stripping, tapping and re-fitting the arrows are still off the car. Basically i had the radially seated standard wheel bolts, when i needed 60 degree tapered seat bolts. This meant only a couple of threads got to the hub, so were easily stripped. Good job i never got on the road! I'll be fitting them properly soon.

Urgent...Get to back of hub - How?

Sorry for the vagueness, was in a rush. Its sorted now, torqued up correctly but only time will tell if, like Bickerton says, my wheel will fall off. Found the source of the problem though. Wrong style wheel bolts. Only going two threads into the hub...lucky it stripped out before i drove it anywhere really. -
How would i go about getting to the back of my hub/ whats in the way on the front assembly. Need to run a thread through.
-
i have a nice picture of a hilux that decided to park a good few inches inside my front bumper. Multi-stories...
-
possibly, but i'd like to have it so its as it was before....that probably means new parts. reading something atm about removing the rotor/caliper then threading in a wheel bolt from the back, where the threads are good - apparently pushes the knackered threads out
-
any ideas on a rough cost? for the hub/fitting?
-
Proving that i am a mechanical f***-up i have partially cross threaded and stripped the threads in 2/4 bolt holes on my front o/s hub. I have managed to tap a new thread into one of them, but the tapping tool will not bite into the second. HELP ME PLEASE- i'd like to not have to replace the hub!

Thanks for the replies guys. Well I'm picking up the spacers off Mike again on Friday, so ill try and fit them again friday afternoon. I need some locking wheel nuts before they go on properly. Plus my camber and tracking are well out, as was unnoticeable on the steels, so ill get that done shortly. I can see myself wanting it lower soon.

i hate to be 'one of those guys' but buy a sport and spend money tuning it. Could see GTI figures and it'l be more fun.
-
I've gotta take them off in a second so ill get a snap or two. The offending gap. Let me know what you think. Better pictures to come after spacers. Need to paint those brakes too.

Just tried fitting the arrows that i got from Mike-M yesterday. They clear the brake calliper on the front by 0.25mm so looks like spacers will be in order. They look bloody fantastic though!

It would appear that way. Hopefully the car will do them justice - otherwise suspension will be needed.

pictures tomorrow

Likewise.

Fairly significant update due Tuesday.

Got some whiter bulbs in, the output seems alright and they're almost a match to the LEDs from a distance. We'll see how they last, might upgrade to Philips Diamond Vision. Car's still too filthy for pictures because of the rain, so ill see what happens tomorrow.
