    Rear Lights

You able to chuck up pictures and MS Paint all the wires so I'd know what to do? I'm thinking of doing it your way, so I can get both reverse lights and both rear fog lights working. I see your car at college sometimes, not bad not bad, quite nice. Managed to sell it? Smye

    Rear Lights

I bought some 17 amp 4m wire from Halfrauds today. I 'leccy taped a wire to the N/S reverse, and bought it across to the empty space, No6, on O/S and the it didn't work. Any advice? I'm now thinking of tryin BigFoot's idea of just soldering over the wire channels in the lights themselves! Smye

    Rear Lights

Yeah man, I checked your thread (haven't read it all yet!) and noticed you hooked up both reverse and both rear fogs, looks niiiiiice. There's a Mk1 Rozzer at my local scrappies and I'm wanting to take the wiring loom our of that, snip it, then branch over to get these lights working. Wouldn't that make a series connection? Which means if one reverse/fog light blows, the opposite one won't come? Cheers. Smye
  4. Not bad, I'd probably have a bit more fuel left than that though for the mileage you're at :-) Smye
  5. Looked like a W Reg passing Kwik Fit in Dunfermline. Nice tidy motor with black wheels, looked lowered, looked cared for so wondering if it was anyone on here? Was sometime in the after on Sunday 28th. Smye
  6. richcr, hope this helps: My thread when I was doing it : http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=63408&st=0&p=765330entry765330 Emz's thread : http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=63340 Good luck! Smye
  7. The redline on my fuel gauge was nearly behind the line so decided not to risk it any further - 311.3 miles, well chuffed! If you've vented the car when filling, you'll notice the needle sits just above the "full" line ; I wonder if it's the same for when running empty? When filling up I vented so got over 40 litres in the tank, a'thankyou.
  8. Yup, you feel a bit special at the pumps using it 'cause you feel like folk are watching thinking, "does that dude know how to fill a car?". But it's niiiiiice. Nice one with the rarity of the manual, I can't complain about the Auto, it serves me well. If only it had a side box with "+ M -" rather than the choice to select 1st, 2nd or 3rd :-S Ohwell........
  9. You do have the Sport spec though so you'll probably be a bit more pedal-happy lol Just gone over 300 miles, ballin' :-)
  10. That's ridiculous! How'd you get so many with a GTI?!
  11. Alright Croakey? I've wondered the same. What I've been doing the last couple of months is filling up on the weekend when my car is empty, set the trip to zero, then note down mileage/days till fill up; just builds a log for me to refer back to so I can work out my mpg. Recently, again over the last couple of months, I've been filling up using the "secret" air vent, which is on the 3 o'clock position, and been able to get like 37 litres in the tank on my Mk2 Rozzer. Anywaaaaay.........I get about the same as you, 250-265 miles for a full tank (using "secret" air vent). You didn't mention your transmission? I've got an Auto-Box so I use 10% more fuel for a given distance (or something like that). I'm 290 miles just now or so and the fuel light just came on, I'm excited! lol Hoping to crack that 300 mile mark - I was doing 60mph-ish to and from Aberdeen the other day so that'll've given me good mpg. Cheers. Smye NB Yes I do know about dragging "crap" through your filters if you use the last of the fuel in your tank.
  12. Alright man, where about you from in the Kingdom? I'm a Dunfermline lad. Where I work there's a couple of Lupos and a couple of Rozzers but I don't see many about here and if I do, they're usually driven by a mature person. I saw a black Lupo at the racers in Dunfermline a few nights back. Your Rozzer sounds nice. What age is it? 36k on the clock sounds a bargain. For the mileage it's at, I think you'll be sorted with a minor service, get things checked over. I don't think the timing belt and tensioners will need touched at the mileage you're at tbh. Modding as in performance? There'll be stuff on here so you'll have to look around. Take it easy. Smye
  13. Can't recommend that Auto Glym stuff enough; use that and apply it with a blue/j/jay cloth, let it soak in a bit and keep applying it. Then use some sort of scraper whatever works best for you but be careful. I wouldn't use a lot of petrol, I tried it and it did nothing special for me, actually stripped a very fine layer of lacquer/paint, even though I thought I washed it quick enough, now I'll have to T-Cut at some point. Good luck. Smye
  14. Great topic, great pictures, great car. Smye
  15. Is there a "how to" guide anywhere on this forum, about how to remove the rear wiper?

Cheers Emz, bit of an effort and farce for me but got there in the end.
  17. I got my Rozza lowered 40mm on standard shocks; definately feel potholes more and speedbumps are a bit rubbish but if you go slow over them, not too much of a problem. From what I know, 40mm is probably the max recommended drop on standard shocks, anything more then get uprated shocks. A guy I'm at college with has a Lupo and I don't know what he's using but the car is lowered 40mm all round with 15s on, seems fine and looks good. I'd play safe with the 40mm unless you look into dampers, to answer your question. Smye
  18. Do they stay about an inch above the normal off position? If so, I seldom get this but it doesn't bother me. Sorry I can't help. Smye
  19. Will this be on again this year? Pictures look awesome, weather looked awesome and I'm due some summer visits back up to the GC! Smye
  20. Is this the Lupo that goes in and out the Dockyard? If so tidy motor (dirty the now like!) but nice. I gotta a silver 'Rosa and I'm at the college. Saw your car in "North Easy Motor Show Aberdeen" thread. Smye

Cheers dude. Didn't need to pay the garage anything, the car wasn't even booked in. When I went up by chance last Sunday, a mechanic for Skoda was there cleaning his car or something and just told me to come up during the week to see him so I did, decent guy like, totally sound, job done in 2 minutes! You'd be better off going to your SEAT garage, asking how much for the pinout tools and if they're well priced, get them and do them yourself. Or see if a wee local garage can do it for even cheaper as they might have the tool. This how the car was since I got it, for about 2 months beofre I done my jobs to it; So I think it looks better now with the lights and the rest. I just can't see how, for my colour and spec Rozza, the original lights were good. Some black Rozza Sports look decent enough with factory lights IMO. Have you done it to your car? Smye
  22. If it's just one of the lights, check the wires are in on the plastic connectors; to do this you'll need a flat head screwdriver and remove the screw you see when you open the boot. Carefully slide the light cluster outwards, always away from the car; make sure all the pins are in. You said you've checked the bulb and it's alright. You could open the light cluster with a posidrive/philips and check the circuit inside is intact like adamskihayden said. I'm not sure about a fuse. The handbook will tell you what all the symbols mean if there is one for the reverse light, you'll have to orientate the fuse cover to match the fusebox you can see to source the right one (if there is one). Fuses are only £1 odd. It'll probably be a 5A or 10A fuse (if there is one). If you want rid of that inspection/service light do the following. Hold in the button you use to reset the miles, turn ignition on. You'll see something like all zeros, or ----, or a countdown to zero or something like that after a wee while. When it's done turn off ignition, release hold on button. Start the car and it should go away. I read about that on here and told a mate about it who has a Saxo and it even worked on that. Smye

    Rear Lights

My Lupo lights are now fitted and looking sweet. There is a how-to guide on here with the wiring which I'd say is correct - BUT if you've got a 2005 Rozza, it is different to that guide by 1 wire which you'll figure out when doing it; the sidelight wire O/S is a different colour to that on the guide. I would advise NOT taking the wires out of the plastic connector yourself; you may end up mangling a few as I did. I asked heaps of folk to help me and they struggled, even when using heaps of "appropriate" tools (cocktail sticks, thin nails, jewellers screwdrivers etc). You really need to use a "pin out" tool and if you find a sound mechanic at a VW, Skoda or SEAT garage, they'll take 2 tics out of their day and remove the wires with this tool - you can buy one but I'm not sure where from. The Lupo lights have the potential to operate both reverse lights and both rear fog lights, compared to Rozza Mk2 original 1 reverse N/S and 1 rear fog O/S. To operate both, you'll need to add an extra wire and carry it over from N/S to O/S (for reverse) and then O/S to N/S (for rear fog). If you choose to NOT do this, you'll have a gap on each connector (on O/S, I think you could just fill the gap with the spare earth if you don't fancy 2 reverse lights). This is how mines is wired and so is Emz. So when you swap the lights as Emz and I have done, and I'm assuming others, you'll only get the 1 reverse and 1 rear fog. I was told it's not an MOT failure which is a bonus. I hope that's shed some light on a very worthwhile modification, will definately tidy up the rear of the Rozza and make it look smoother IMO, the hardest bit is removing the wire from the connectors. If you know you can get that done in 10 minutes, then you'll have the whole job done within 30 minutes easy. *Potential problems* - when all wired up and you're sure it's all correct and some lights ain't working, check the bulbs ain't blown. - check the fuse ain't blown (happened to me so I was confused) - removing wires from the connectors *Advice* - write down which wires go where when removing them so you don't confuse yourself if you need the original lights back on. - note which way round the connector is facing. Good luck and go for it! Smye NB: As it looks now.
