  1. Not sure mate. Mine will be a custom made race cage so quite different from a show cage. Sorry i cant help. Nothing has happened as yet. Im still quietly looking around for a car with with to start the project but im in no rush Its just something to tinker with in the workshop in the evenings and weekends to pass the time and have some fun. Ooo, Can i have it Track cars are always a good project
  2. After reading all 20 pages all i can say is Awesome. Simply Awesome. I hope my car is half as nice as this when finished. Kind Regards Garry
  3. Nice read was this. Do you still have it mate? Is she alive Kind Regards Garry
  4. My friend Dave was going to build the cage for me. He is the owner of the MK2 VR6 and Corrado Turbo i posted about in my opening post. His day job is at Saxon Motorsport building race cars, so is very qualified. Have a look at the cage in the Civic for an example of his work. Were located in Ashford, Kent so a little way from Bristol but im happy to get him to offer a quote if you want. Just send me a PM with the details of what you want and i can run it by him. I think he is fairly free at the moment so may even be able to get it done before xmas for you
  5. Okay, im with you. Do you know if they can phisically be attached tho, or is it a total no no? I would be more interested in saving weight, than having it look perfect. Do you know how big a gap we are talking and has anyone done it before with pics etc.. I tried searching but could not find any decent guides, but i could be looking for the wrong thing Kind Regards Garry
  6. Alloy panels are always going to be a good thing I shall have to check and see what parts i would need to swap over to make it all look OE tho Sounds good mate. How far have you got with it so far? So if i can find a GTi rear ended, i would need the bumper, wings, bonnet and grill to make it all fit nice? Thanks again. Garry
  7. Thanks Phil, great info. So the various fronts are: - Basic Lupo - Sport Are they both the same fronts, but the Sport having a centre exit? - GTi - 3L I prefer the Gti front, but have read its a bit of a mission to fit onto a non-Gti, so will probably look at the Reiger front: That should look purpousefull enough i think Any other major points between the models i should think about? Kind Regards Garry
  8. Perfect answers. Thanks. Does the 3L have different bumpers that can be fitted to normal Lupos? I see alot of people mention them? So depending on the cost of finding a rear beam, i may be just as well to spend the extra and get a 1.4 sport to start with? But they are around £2k so quite a cost. I shall have a look. Okay, nice and simple then Thanks for the answers. Garry
  9. I would be interested to see this info for my track project also if you could. Kind Regards Garry
  10. I have done alot of reading. Almost all the progress threads off here it seems and have a couple of fairly obvious questions im sure you can all help with. What is a Lupo 3L? Does the GTi have a quicker rack than normal Lupos? - If so, can they be swapped? What models came with rear disc brakes as standard? - If a smaller model has drums, what rear beams/discs can be fitted? What are Cambridge rear lights? Im sure this is simple enough for you wonderfully helpfull people to answer. Once i have a more solid idea of what i need as a staring model i can go shopping I was pointed to this little beast by a member. Only £700.00 (after a couple of e-mails) but think i do prefer the look of the Lupo. But, i do think the Morrettes add to the "Track" theme i will be working towards. Fit side lights into the bumper, HIDs into two of the lamps and cold air feed the other two. Kind Regards Garry
  11. Just had an e-mail saying its still not sold and they will accept £750.00. I think i will keep looking
  12. Awesome project. I just read this from start to end and am very impressed
  13. lol. Sorry Depends what you want from the car? The Octavia is a great all rounder. The Lupo/Arosa will be just a toy. Why you selling?
  14. Mail sent offering £500.00 Awaits reply
