  1. definitely had a VW in snow like that!
  2. We took the paperwork in for the scrappage on 3 August so the 20 calendar weeks is before 21 December I had 1K already to put down so I only got it for 4.5K instead of the 5.5K that the scrappage discount alone would have given me. It's standard Uranium Grey Urban Fox 1.2 with no optional extras. But I've managed to get a protecton pack and sill guards thrown in for free as I've said the wait is a bit longer than I'd anticipated so there's bargains to be had if you're cheeky! The dealers, Gilders, are saying there's a guaranteed trade in price of just over 3K after 3 years if we excercise the option to trade in for another new one. I've never had a new car but you hear so much about it driving off the forecourt and the value plumeting like a stone so we'd lose only 1.5K in 3 years. We were told we could have a Polo Match sooner as they see to have reserve stock awaiting registration but I'd made my mind up I wanted a Fox and the Polo felt no different to the one I already had whereas the Fox as miles ahead in terms of space and it seemed so light and roomy where the Polo was a bit dark and compact. I test drove a 2006 model as they didn't have a newer one but they're letting me test drive again when a newer model comes in in case I change my mind.
  3. I ordered mine last week have to wait till December but I'm happy with that. The comments on here from the drivers are honest. The only shocking negatives I've read are from the non Fox drivers. One was a 15 year old which was just so bad I'm suprised the mods allowed it. I think it's a good looking car, basic interior but what are you looking for? I'm using mine for commuting to and from work so I'm not looking for a sporty fast motor just a great value car. Are you using any scrappage against the car? I'm getting mine for 4.5K which is great for a new car. Can you wait for the delivery? Looking round some of the website it's about average on the small cars so you won't be able to nip in and pick one up tomorrow. Who will use it are you driving a family round or just yourself and your partner? It's never going to seat than 4 but the car is very spacious and comfortable.
  4. The doors have dropped and leaking in 57K I'd say that was pretty major!
  5. Don't buy a car that they think is designed to be used with the scrappage deal - the scrappage deal was supposed to 'save' jobs in the industry. I could have had a Polo, what's the point - I already drive a Polo. New ones are exactly the same as the 2000 model.
  6. I know what you mean I saw a picture of it on the sticky for the radio/ipod and don't know what you could possibly keep in there...............bar gloves obviously!
  7. You get a box under the seat to keep your bits in! http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/#/new/fox/expl...pes-upholstery/
  8. But is there anything lurking under your seat........!?
  9. What do you keep in the box under your seat!?
  10. I love my Polo I bought it from a mate who had it as a small second car and will surely shed a tear when the time comes to get it on ebay when the Fox comes. It's just that it's 9 years old looking a bit shabby since some git decided to take off the n/s door mirror and for love nor money can we get another one. Either way they'd have knackered the electrics anyway. It needs another EGR valve as it's stuck open or shut or whatever they do and they've about £300+ quid from the dealer and he who must be obeyed can't get it off to clean without breaking it. If they still made the Lupo I'd be parting with the hard earned to get one as I used to drive a Fiat Cinq (god that was a biscuit tin!) so used to having a car that small. By the way - if anyone knows anyone who may want a VW Polo E Sept 2000, 68K miles spares or repairs then let me know! May take a look over on the Polo forum nearer the time
  11. You've obviously never driven on the equally gay Derbyshire roads!
  12. Yeah don't really know why the only Fox forum is on a page for car owners that hate them - I'm certainly not technical to set one up!
  13. What a small world - I'm from Chesterfield!!!! Just down the road from the huge Gilders at Norton where your cousin is probably based
  14. Hey Shona that's what my other half got points for. Goods vehicle on a dual carriage way only 60 not 70 Gits!
  15. You can't tar the whole name with a few duff ones and like I've already read on here you always get a few bad eggs in a batch. I reserve the right to change my mind come December when my behind the wheel but I don't think it should get the slating it does by the Lupo drivers. Did every Lupo come off the production line without 1 single problem? Keep on enjoying!
  16. Why the complete turn round then Basil? What was it that made you cancel the order?
  17. We sacrificed a K reg Vauxhall Fronterra. Never again will the beast ever be worth 2K! Also busy making lists on what we can strip off it to sell on ebay and the like so we'll get a bit more. I've ordered the Fox in the Uranium Grey, have a fear of red cars and didn't like the blue to much, with the honeycombe seats. No deal other than the scrappage a such but the sales team are giving us a protection pack and sill guards for free. It's through the Guilders Group and they're pretty well known around South Yorkshire and Derbyshire. ......and oh yes I'm a girlie!
  18. I looked over this site last night and was stunned at the absolute kicking that Fox owners were getting. Poor Basil Brush has cancelled his due to what could only be described as peer pressure bullying! "I had my car 6 months and I needed a new bulb so I took it back to the dealer blah blah blah". Do all new cars come with a guarantee as an option? I'm happy to wait till December for delivery, took advantage of the scrappage deal - yes could have got something else in that time but why? I want a car that can seat 4 not me and a handbag. No - I couldn't buy a Lupo..................they don't make them any more!!!!!!!! Didn't like the Polo Match so went for a Urban Fox 1.2. Obviously I know I'll be opening myself up to a kicking but I'm looking forward to it.
