  1. there aren't any bolts? just a securing ring that you have to put screwdriver in and lift the ring up
  2. I'd change the plugs and the coil, coils are prone to going. But as you've said its about chucking money at it (unless you can borrow a coil from another car to test it!)
  3. Got the GTi doors on now (what a pain in the arse they were lol). I've weighed them (on kitchen scales so not sure how accurate) and there about 7kg a door lighter. Lifters will hopefully get done this week!
  4. I'd argue for the £90 price difference there probably isn't that big a difference...saying that I use a jabbasport one. what are you going to be using it for?

    Gearbox

    what gearbox code is it?
  6. I do...however I'm keeping them sorry!
  7. Yeah it bolts on...but it really doesn't sit on the car properly lol. Sort of a 1/2cm gap between the bottom of the baseplate and the door because of the different design of seals etc on the GTi door. Even the bit of plastic on the inside is different, no wonder the GTi cost so much!! So many bespoke parts. As you say I'm tempted to just file it down but I'd rather it fitted properly
  8. After trying to fit my Lupo Sport mirrors to Lupo GTi doors and finding they won't fit I decided to just buy some DTM mirrors with Lupo base plates instead of buying GTi mirrors....they don't fit either. Has anyone fitted DTM / M3 mirrors (or anything aftermarket) to Lupo GTi doors? If so where did you get the baseplates or how did you fit them?
  9. Ok door wont open from the inside just sounds like the wire has come detached from either the handle or the lock. Take the door card off and have a look Dropped. Have a look at where the door joins the car there are two brackets. If you loosen them move the door and tighten them, there is an art to it and it'll take a few go's probably
  10. probably one of the sensors is bust. Hard to guess, need to vagcom it really
  11. I'd love it....just the fact you're in Cumbria
  12. I believe everything communicates via the main ECU? I'm not 100% on that though!
  13. To be honest go with whatever suits your budget and that you like!
  14. Well I picked up my GTi doors after getting them sprayed and removed my drivers door and WOW!! Will weigh them this week but I couldn't believe the difference
  15. Thanks everyone! I've got the dash, fire extinguisher, and battery back in. Will pop the seat and wiring back in this week and hopefully get the new lifters fitted as well!
  16. So I've had a few comments that my engine bay is cleaner than the interior of my car so thought I should sort it out Interior Before: Interior After:
  17. people don't generally...because you won't get anything bigger in the spare wheel well will you?
  18. what sort of budget? bearing in mind they go from about £250 up to £1500 lol
  19. Hmm I should think about something like this for my Lupo. Any idea if the sport engine mount is the same? or can be modified in the same way? (cant remember what it looks like!)
