Cambelt change cost

Hi, how much have people payed for cambelt changes on their lupo gti, including water pump and tensioners.

I've been quoted £255 all in from Midland VW. Anyone had any experience using them before?

for my non gti i payed £115 for the cambelt kit and water pump from Lupoboz on here in the traders section and payed £70 for fitting from a mate whos a mechanic but usually nearer £100 to fit(mates rates )

That's about average.. Maybe abit on the high side however. I need mine done, went to two local garages and got quoted £160+vat and the other £170+vat so about £200. These figures came from garages part of the good garage scheme. Hope these figures help.

The mrs' sport is in today to have the cambelt, waterpump and tensioners all changed. I will post up how much it cost later on when we get a bill.

gti's cost more as there are two tensioners i believe

Got mine done at an independant VAG specialist.

Timing belt kit was £130.

Water pump was £32.

Fitting was £95.

So £257.
