Hi, new member. struggling with some issues with my lupo, 1.4s AUA code

its driving terribly and eating fuel, i've ran the diagnostics and have 3 codes:

1* 17526 O2 heater circuit (bank 1-sensor 2) open circuit P1118

2* 17513 O2 heater circuit (bank 1-sensor 2) short with power P1105

3* 17861 Altitude/intake manifold unlikely ratio P1553 Intermittent

first two i know are because the second lambda sensor has been cut off, and im thinking that the 3rd is because the ecu cant communicate how much fuel to add so is creating that error.

what do people think

my other problems are:

Firstly:

This bell housing inspection hole had its cover knocked off and i think water has got into it, how bad is this and what can i do to fix any issue it might bring up?

I also have a tapping noise when revs increase, even in neutral not moving, I'm quite puzzled by that as it doesn't sound healthy.

Thirdly, my second lambda sensor has been cut right at the exhaust and I can't locate the other end, can anyone help where the wires should be?

thanks for any help

i will check, but i think its something different, i think its related to the air flow/throttle. because as soon as you release the throttle the rattle happens instantly before the revs even start dropping, i know its also after the throttle body as i have inspected and cleaned it, hopefully its something simple thats just come loose. will have the body off tomorrow to have a look

also found another cut group of wires, somebody really has botched this

so my post cat lambda was snapped clean off, probably from being so low. now ive found it i can replace it. hopefully that will fix something.

also got some photos of the random cut wire.

so as you see, cut wires and a blanked line? any idea as to what its for

its the cables that are just infront of the throttle body. even if you could follow them back in your car, im sure its a similar layout, would be really appreciated. would be simple if i had a car next to me to compare the two

have a check , could it be a charcoal canister wiring and blank into the throttle body? my engine code is AUA if that helps. i litterally have 20 vw haynes manuals but never thought i'd own a lupo so dont have one

i've still got that temp sensor. but i think it is another one because i've now noticed when driving the temp drops, but when stationary the temp climbs again. its all a load of rubbish. when i get a chance im gonna replace some bits that i need, but i cant get time off work to sort it

so i think im just going to focus of cleaning out my intake manifold, take it off clean it out, clean the map sensor and inside the throttle body. hopefully that will fix the running problem.

then work out the other wires

and the rattle

and the dents

and the paint

and the wonky steering wheel

the list continues

i thought that jon, and its in the post. new leads sparks and lambda ready to fit. didnt fancy £80 for new map just yet so will clean it first, then plug it in again and see if i have anymore codes come up

Ok, few bits arrived today. Got my new lambda sensor, spark plugs and some new wiper blades. Still waiting on the thermostat and new leads to arrive. As an extra I've order some new coolant and oil filter and 5w30 oil. so that's basically my service parts done. now my only problem is where and when I will find the time to do this, I have Friday and Saturday off but I'm picking up my mk1 golf as well so work/space/time is all against me.

so managed to have a look under the bonnet today. the rattle noise is my cam belt, its really slack on one side, must be the tensioner, hopefully it hasnt slipped as it still runs normal. went to change the broken lambda but the new one had wrong fitting :(

never managed to get to the map sensor as its quite awkward to get to and i didnt have time to take off the fuel rail and bits. did clean out the egr but that wasnt to bad.

so now most important thing is sorting the cambelt/tensioner and timing

cambelt, tensioners, timing all booked in.

i've put new plugs, leads, filters, fluid and oil in.

also replaced the standard air box as it was split and cracked around the throttle body.

fitted new lambda sensor but it sits about an inch from the ground so i dont think it will last long.

sounds and runs bit better now, hopefully after the cambelts sorted it will be spot on

shows how low the sensor is.

and i know alot of people hate air induction kits but this is kind of temporary
