GeoffD Posted January 25, 2014 Report Share Posted January 25, 2014 still don't know what you mean, daughter has a lupo and her boyfriend has the golf gti so I can't work out where the front mount thing comes from as both cars have a dogbone fix to the crossmember. as I remember it was only the first generation engines that had the front fix which mounted near the starter / to the front crossmember, or is it the old engine you're using . You mean a front engine mount yes this has been done Afew times so has the mounts to subframe like the golfs again .
