Itscrap Posted October 14, 2013 Report Share Posted October 14, 2013 Hi, my gti has developed a knock which sounds like it's coming from front near side. It mainly happens as I accelerate and on acceleration after each gear change after that. Same noise seems apparent when hitting a sharp bump in the road. The car has new cv joints, wishbones, ball joints and drop links. I have have checked everything including top mount and everything is tight. Can't seem to find the noise at all and it's impossible to replicate when not accelerating under load. Any ideas anyone? Cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Alex-Bone94 Posted October 15, 2013 Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 Check your gearbox mount, I had a knock like the same symptons and couldn't find anything then a thew weeks later found my gearbox mount had snapped.
