stansnuts
Hi picked up a 2002 1.0 SE in Fresco Green for my son's first car today. 2002 with only 19,500 miles on it, it really is an archetypal "old ladies shopping car" in brilliant condition .However there is only one key , there is no remote central locking though, so what is the best and cheapest way to get a second key without going to a dealer? T3LLIOTT
Wow that's low mileage! I hope your son enjoys the car
Mattz341
Buy another key off of the web... I think the code is HAA and then find an independent that'll cut it won't cost more than 20 I reckon!
stator
Don't the VW immobilisers require a special key inserted to program any new keys?
Mattz341
Ah I forgot about the immobiliser chip :/ yeah you'd have too go too a dealer to get a new chip I think, google it and that'll provide the answer! :L

Did it using the 'normal' key, and he used the OBD reader port behind the ashtray as part of the process.
