arsenal24295
Basicly i am looking to replace my speakers with fli 6.5s i took the old speakers out wich were aftermarket subzero ones, heres the problem before i took the speakers out the window wouldnt go all the way down and i found out that by taking the speaker out the magnet on the back was stopping the glass going all the way down. The fli magnets are bigger so i thought is there a mount on or something i can buy or make? i want it cheap and easy though.
Dblock
You can buy a speaker adapter kit or you can make your own mdf baffle.

joshthewacko
£15 for that is ridiculous and it is still bad to mount speakers on plastic, you could knock up an 18mm mdf baffle or even double that up for a couple of quid.
RobG
look at woodshapes, they'll sell you precut mdf speaker rings for not much money.

Silver!
The original speakers are mounted in plastic, does fine for me....but then I'm more about driving than wrecking my ears with bass.

RobG
Dblock: Yeah, those are what i got when i did the audio in the passat, got the 18mm ones, and they went in fine. I did get the same for the lupo, but never got around to fitting them.

Dblock
Your not going to ruin your ears with bass with some mids. You can have a nice clean sound without it pounding.
Silver!
Oh, OK. I was refering to the whole over spec'd ICE thing with bouncing bass and all.So long as I can listen to Radio Scotland and a bit of Led Zeppelin I am happy.
