Samemery
Hey I was wondering if I could ask for a few suggestions as we've bought a seat arosa 1.0 and recently on the idle it misfires every couple of seconds (5-8 secs), like sparking at the plug, I'm no mechanic as you can understand I'm sure but just wondered what it was and how serious it may be Be very grateful for some advice
Al3xTee
Have you looked to see if its arcing? When was it last serviced?

Samemery
No not arcing no spark visible Just the sound of the spark plug conducting but it jumps engine like its missing a beat
Al3xTee
What was changed in the service? Ht leads, plugs? The plugs may just need taking out and cleaning. If they weren't changed in the service, change them. Failing that, possibly your coil pack

Pete91
Sounds like the coil pack. Try scanning it for codes to be sure
Samemery
Sorry I'm not to mechanically minded what is scanning codes? I'm new to these models and never had any trouble with my other vehicle
Pete91
You use vagcom which is vw/Audi software which can tell you if any codes are stored on the ecu. The codes often come up cos of electrical faults etc and can help diagnose what's wrong
