Hi,

Quick niggling question regarding my wife's Arosa.

Currently she is only getting 150 mile per tank of petrol.

It's used for short journeys to work and back daily 3-4 miles either way.

History.

it's recently has the following repaired/replaced (it was getting the same mileage before the work)

Head Gasket (it had blown/gone)

Head skimmed

Spark Plugs

Radiator

Cam Belt

Water Pump

Needs back box changing (noisy).

Coolant Temp Senor doesn't seem to be working as the dash needle is always to the left.

I changes the sensor for an eBay special, but will get a OEM from Seat/VW very soon.

Any advice on whether the mileage is normal for a Auto doing short city miles or there's something obvious I can check.

Thanks

150 miles on 28 litres is around 15 mpg so it's does sound a little low mpg

A 1.4 auto petrol should do 26mpg on a urban cycle (short trip driving)

If you have a smart phone get yourself an app to measure the true mpg, otherwise it pretty much guess work - I recommend Road Trip, works pretty well for me
