Hi, My Polo Haynes Manual states VW auto boxes have two settings (Eco or Sport). The setting can be set at a dealer. I reference the polo manual as I'm not aware that there is one for the Arosa. Does anybody know how I can check/change the setting with my RoasTech interface cable (VAGCOM)?

Hello, I know the MK1 has a beeper/buzzer in the dash (it sounded when running through some VAGCOM dash tests this evening), is there a way to enable the buzzer when the lights are left on with the ignition off (as later cars do)?

OK, I'll be carful. I have a couple of litters of Coolant ready :-) I confirmed the CTS is OK, by reading the real time temp via ta VAGCOM cable this evening. The took 20 minutes to get to 78 Degrees. I reset the error code for when I disconnected the CTS cable.

I was coming round to that conclusion, thanks for the advice. I will oder one to for this weekend. I assume it's easy enough to install (I'll search the forum). I'll post the results. Cheers

Yes it did but that was the only time I've ever seen it at 90. I basically to the car for a 15 blast on a country road loop. During the drive the needle didn't get above 55-60. Only when I parked up and sat with the engine running did the needle slowly creep up to 90. I have a spare Temp sensor (bought one from SEAT the other day). Although the one in the car is responding to heat is it worth me changing it anyway? I was thinking of returning it for a £37.50 refund.

When I bought the Arosa, the previous owner had just started a similar project. The sunvisors were covered in stickers, it took an age to get them tidy again.

No that's still in place, I'm focusing on the CTS as the temp gage is not moving above 55 degrees.

I've just had my 1.4 Arosa Head Gasket changed and head skimmed plus rad, cam belt, spark plugs and water pump. £740

Hi, Looking for some ideas. I checked the coolent temp sensor (cts) this afternoon. I have a 4 pin yellow banded CTS. Measured the two left pins, while the engine was warming up from cold and found the resistance going down, this is good :-) so the CTS is working. So I thought I would check the voltage going into the CTS, it measured 4.8v. That's all I have :-) anyone know where I go from here? I have putchased a new CTS from SEAT but don't want to use it if it's not required (it cost £37).

Il'll be very interested to know what you find as I have a similar issue. Just has to top up a the coolant after a new radiator and head gasket. Replacing the coolant temp sensor this weekend as it is not giving correct readings.

I thought as much, I wanted to double check before I place an order with my local rip off "VW or SEAT" franchise.

Is it normal for the temp gage to sit at the second / third line (the first group at the far left of the gage well below 70 degrees). Only when the car has stopped for 3 minutes, does the needle point sky wards at 90 degrees. I'm assuming the radiator is doing it's job by cooling the coolant when the car is moving. Only... in the polo the needle points up, after 3-4 minutes, regardless of whether the car is moving. What's your thoughts?

Just downloaded RoadTrip. Maybe hard to use with the Arosa as I only drive it once a week. I will use with my Polo though :-)

Oh any advice offered for the back box change? Tips and part source advice welcomed.

Agreed - maybe I little moped will be more appropriate ;-) I will change the Coolant Temp Sensor and Auto Gearbox Oil and then monitor from there.

Hi, Quick niggling question regarding my wife's Arosa. Currently she is only getting 150 mile per tank of petrol. It's used for short journeys to work and back daily 3-4 miles either way. History. it's recently has the following repaired/replaced (it was getting the same mileage before the work) Head Gasket (it had blown/gone) Head skimmed Spark Plugs Radiator Cam Belt Water Pump Needs back box changing (noisy). Coolant Temp Senor doesn't seem to be working as the dash needle is always to the left. I changes the sensor for an eBay special, but will get a OEM from Seat/VW very soon. Any advice on whether the mileage is normal for a Auto doing short city miles or there's something obvious I can check. Thanks
