LoopyJ
Afternoon all,Quick one if possible please...I've found some wheels which are 15 x 7 ET27.I believe the size is okay, but I'm not sure about the ET27 offset. Will they end up sitting deep in the arch and being buried away?Any help appreciated...Thanks,J.P.S: I have checked the offset thread (http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9677). JoeA
They'd be be better off sitting in the arch than poking too much as you can always space. My wheels are et 45 standard! What are the specs of your current wheels (diameter, width and offset)?
LoopyJ
Just running the OEM Lupo steelies at the mo matey. Agreed about being tucked away inside the arch rather than poking out too far, but I don't want to be too far inside the arch. It may be that their width (7J) means that they're wider and therefore not sat as deep inside the arch?I think the stock wheels will be 14x5 or 14x6 (ET40 in either case), judging from this thread. It's a 2001 1.4 Lupo S if that helps...? Edited July 1, 2012 by LoopyJ
JoeA
Done this up for you, tyre sizes are merely for reference but you can see the poke etc. The first wheel should be the correct specs for your 13" steels. the second is as stated above http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=175&aspect=65&diameter=13&wheelwidth=5.5&offset=43&width2=175&aspect2=50&diameter2=15&wheelwidth2=7&offset2=27&Submit=Submit
LoopyJ
Legend! Nice one amigo, much appreciated! Never come across that site before. I've just taken a quick look at the wheels and they are actually 13" as you said in your post, meaning they'll either be 4.5J x 13” ET35 or 5.5J x 13” ET43.Judging from that link then, they should fit ok...?Thanks again
JoeA
They they'll sit really nice i think may need some rolling if you ever go silly low but not too much work
LoopyJ
Spot on, cheers I'll be dropping on coilovers at some point (ideally winding them down low), but if there's any fouling I'll just raise them up a tad! Thanks for the help... JoeA
no worries what wheels are they?
scotty_82
Tyres will be important at that offset, 195-45 at a minimum probably less.It may also need the arches rolling depending on how low you are. Mr ColinG
The lower the offset the more poke, higher offset means tuck.Should sit pretty well.
JoeA
Yeah, Piers is rocking the 175 50s on his 7j and the stretch there is functional yet not silly
LoopyJ
That's the thing, I want to keep it drivable & don't wanna end up being stuck somewhere due to needing a specialist tyre garage to be able to stretch some tyres on for me.I run 285/35s on some 18x12J's at the mo so want to keep this one relatively sensible haha Edited July 1, 2012 by LoopyJ
JoeA
Piers' on 175/50s
LoopyJ
That's a GTi with the flared arches though isn't it? Would that pose a problem on a non-GTi Lupo do you think, or does that all depend on the drop?
JoeA
That picture was merely to show you the angle on stretch on a 7j wheel with 175/50 tyres. Piers car is on air, has flared arches as you said and they're a different offset to et
LoopyJ
Ahhhhhh gotcha, thanks New to this forum so not overly familiar with the member rides... yet lol.
Deadmetal
I have 15x7j et40 with a 13mm spacer, so a final offset of 27, on the rear of my lupo. You will need to roll your arches if you run 195/45s.
LoopyJ
Cheers for the input pal... What tyre size would you recommend to avoid the need to roll them then?
Deadmetal
175/50s might work. If you wanna go low, you're gonna need to roll 'em anyway.
Lupo Lewis
ATS cups are ET28 you will be fine dude!
