Bikerz
Who's put stud on their hubs? Amy advice?
scotty_82
Is it needed? Id only put them on if i was taking wheels on and off all the time, it just becomes so much easier to locate the wheel on the hub.
Bikerz
Yes. Hence id like them. They are M14x1.5mm pitch. Just need to work out how long I need them.
scotty_82
That would also be dependent on which wheels you are using and if you plan on using open head nuts too.
Bikerz
Il use open head nuts to allow easy changes. I willl prob just have to measure/guess
99hjhm
There are kits about. Basically they are crap. Material quality is poor and they have a habit of coming loose.Thread size is M12x1.5 on a Lupo.Have a search on ClubGTI, few stud topics on there. Bikerz
Cheers mate will do. Just found out they are M12.1.5 I meaured last night. Maybe not a great idea for a daily then. I struggle soo much doing wheels with my back so studs would help. Edited August 12, 2011 by Bikerz
nfbr
Get yourself a length of M12x1.50 threaded rodGrind back the thread except for 20mm on one end.Cut the rod down to about 6" long and using a clamp and a pillar drill, make a 6 mm hole in the middleFile down the 'none threaded end so it doesn't scratch you or your wheelsHey presto! One 'wheel guide tool'
