polariskid
I really now realise how little I know about speakers and all that Basically, I haven't a clue what kind of amp I need. I've found a JBL 1400W 10" sub that will fit nicely in my boot build, but it's been offered in a deal with a 120W 2 channel JBL GT5 amp. And I'm no expert but there seems to be quite a large difference in wattage which makes me think it won't work well or produce the sound quality. So essentially if anyone can help me with what bits I'm gonna need for a 1400W sub and some 6x9's and what wires need to go where. I'd be hugely grateful Sorry for my lack of knowledge (don't mock me to bad),Cheers,Tom
xChris1609
chances are that 1400w will be peak power, find out what the rms of the sub is and then the rms of the 6x9's then someone can help you.
polariskid
The sub's RMS is 350W and the 6x9's RMS is 70W
si_leeds
So you want a 350 watt rated amp, and then to throw your 6x9s in the bin as their a waste of time / money
polariskid
Okay..... Bought myself a 1400W sub and a 400W amp. Both JBL GTO Sub turned up today and now waiting for the amp. What wires am i going to need? Cheers,Tom
