karting
As some may or may not know i race karts in the British Nationals (ranked 5th in britain in my class), the European Champs and the once a year World finals (ranked 4th in the world in my class)Right so round 1 was last weekend.Quick write up.In Qual my carb pin broke which meant it wasnt joined to the throttle pedel and i had to drive around doing the throttle by hand. (luckily id already set a reasonable laptime before hand)First race i started 13th on the grid and was running 5th postion when two laps from the end i hit a kurb wrong and threw my chain off! 2nd race i had to start last because i didnt finish the previous race (28th) and i somehow managed to get my way upto 7th postion by the end!and the main final i started 7th, and was running 2nd for the first half of the race, then i dropped to 3rd and on the last lap i dropped to 4th. But considering the postion i was in after the 1st race it wasnt a bad result. Some pictures: Edited March 12, 2011 by karting

Silver!
Interesting and with some good pic's. Keep the thread going and let us know how you are doing throughout the season.I used to work with a guy who bought a kart to start racing, but his to be team partner moved away and he kept it for fun (pretty sure it was a 125cc).We worked on a disused airfield and had quite a few fun filled Saturday afternoons hooning it around "tracks" marked by cones. Also used to go to Crail mid week fairly often. His wife then had a kid and the fun stopped as he had to sell. Some of the best fun ever! Revo
That's awesome, I must admit I looked into entering a local tracks karting season so to see someone who really takes part in it is cool . I'd want to treat it like a career path though, moving up from karts to formula 3 etc. I thought I was having a bit of a day dream at that though! Revo
Revo F3 your looking at £750,000 a season to be competative I'm worth it... . I had a look at the championship at my local karting track, quite annoyingly though I'd not be able to attend half of the races due to work. Dam.
