nfbr
what people call the 'MAF' is actually the 'Air mass meter'.
AlexTRea
Which then depending how much air is coming inIt then calcuates the amount of fuel to inject?
nfbr
something like that yes...It is often used to measure the density, temperature, velocity and volume of air coming into the intake side of the engine. The ECU uses this information to adjust a whole host of things such as fuel quantity, fuel pressure, fuel timing etc.all very clever stuff. AlexTRea
Very interesting. So what would the benefit be of modifying the "MAF"
Big Jase
Maf doesnt need 'modified'If running a bigger turbo a bigger maf may be required as the amount of air its sucking may go out of rangeOn my old fabia vrs i fitted a 4 bar r32 maf as the 3 bar vrs was going out of range

westie1
I think we should read it as, if you want something diffrent and are willing to get your hands dirty go for it. If not then get a remap and be happy one day someone on here will do it and others will follow suit i think.
AlexTRea
I know there are 3 things I want for engine modifications ATM like. Decat exhaust and a new panel filter then maybe get them all mapped together. Possibly a ever so slightly larger intercooler
