Diesel madness Posted January 9, 2011 Report Share Posted January 9, 2011 With a new season approaching its time for the next instalment of tuning.Will be fitting list 1B tyres and a rear antiroll bar.Can anyone help me locate a LSD for a 1.4 TDI?Also would like to find a lower front brace. Any ideas ?What gearbox code does the TDI have?Lower front brace can be found from eBay or I think Kam racing sells them, made by OMP, same as a 6N Polo. 99hjhm Posted January 9, 2011 Report Share Posted January 9, 2011 EXB is a TDI ratio.Ratio's are....1st..........33/10.....3.30002nd.........35/18.....1.94443rd..........34/26.....1.30774th..........34/35.....0.97145th..........34/35.....0.7555Final drive:....60/19.....3.1579Looks like 02A and 02J boxes internally change over, and it looks from the part numbers like one or the other. (I would look for a code on the casing to check)There are alot of LSD's for these boxes. Quaife, Peloquin(Quaife copy but better), Wavetrac, Gripper etc etc. You need to do your research and work out whats best for your needs a plate or torque biasing diff. Diesel madness Posted January 12, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 VW confirmed that the TDI is fitted with the O2J gearboxHave now ordered white line rear ARB from Awesome and OMP Lower front brace from Kam racing.Next on wish list is Wavetrack LSD. Will be buying from USA as almost half price.Fitting the LSD is an expensive game.Later in the year its a hybrid turbo from Turbo Technics and a map for 1 minute of max power.First event of the year is Werrington Park Cornwall on 30th April.Could this be a Lupo victory ??????? Diesel madness Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2011 Have just peeled of £1500 to have the car serviced and to buy and fit Wavetrack LSD, rear ARB and lower front brace.Very stiff now, corning under power will take some getting used to but is a giant leap forwards.Will need to pause now before looking for more horses.
