Rusl
Is there a particular type of weld that is needed?and is there a particular welder or just a gas welder?
croakey
you can use a specialist plastic welder, or i've seen it done before with cut off bits of bumpers and a soldering iron
scotty_82
Plastic welding is a bit of a misleading term, its not exactly welding , its basically special heat gun ( or soldering iron ) which soften the plastic then a similar plastic is melted to them both joining them. Rusl
okay, tool sorted, more concerned about the type of plastic used to join the two parts.or i might just use fibreglass
jamiea7x
dont use fiberglass, the plastic is polypropolene if its a bumper and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS) if its the grill surround

Neill1056
Any guidance on what type of soldering iron should you go for and where do you source the plastic from - i'm in the process of smoothing both bumpers just now.
jamiea7x
Try finding asolderin iron with a large wide tip or make a tip with a wide blade and as for plastic id use a spare bumper as then you'll get the right contour of the bumper
