  1. Got the exact same colour and model lupo and was planning the brake conversion - any tips? Do you need the new track rods and bottom arms or was that more out of choice? I've got the calipers and have sourced the carriers. Still looking for the hubs and the rear conversion.
  2. Anyone know where I can get just a front set of 30mm lowering springs?
  3. Just realised I never replied to this but got the car sorted in the end. It turned out it was a faulty brake light switch which was causing a short. We replaced the ignition switch twice before we figured it out. Don't know if replacing the ignition switch had anything to do with the fix. You have to watch when you replace the brake light switch too as you can break them when fitting if not done correctly. Hopefully this will save someone a lot of head scratching one day.
  4. Started a topic a while ago about a problem with my ignition, now looking for further help. Basically when the key is turned and taken out of the ignition barrel the engine continues to run and even when the engine stalls the electrics stay on, Initially thought this was the ignition switch but after replacing this twice I still have the same problem. Bloke at our local garage reckons the ignition is getting a live feed from something so looks like the fault is elsewhere. Any ideas what else could be giving a live feed to the ignition and keeping it on? Any help would be appreciated driving a bid discovery 2 as a courtesy car off my dad just now and really miss my little lupo!!
  5. Bit of a bizarre one this. The missus parked up our lupo (Y reg 1 litre, no engine mods) turned the key and took the key out of the ignition and the engine kept running!!!! Engine eventually turned itself off after a few minutes. Now 2,3 or 4 warning lights are on when key is out of the ignition and car won't start - nothing at all from the starter motor. Had breakdown guy out and he reckons it's the ignition switch or relay. Does this sound right - don't want to put her into a garage for an easy fix diy job. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. Hi, i've got some 40mm lowering springs on my lupo at the moment. At the last mot the rear dampners got advisories for oil leaks and it feels like the suspension at the rear bottoms out with a creaking noise if anyone is in the back or we go over a bit of a dip/bump - is this common or are my dampners fecked? I'm debating if I should get a set of sport shocks off ebay for about £110, some standard dampners or go all out and get coilovers. I'm very much on a budget so although i'd love some coilovers can't really stretch to them. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.
  7. Hi, Looking for folks opinions on debading the rear boot on the lupo - what's the best filler to use to avoid cracking etc in the future? Also for smoothing the front panel and removing the indicator holes what's the best option for this without the possiblity of cracking in the future? Had a bit of a search but can't find a definitive answer.
  8. Hi, i've got a Y reg lupo with standard alloys and standard locking wheel nuts. I've managed to lose the locking wheel nut adaptor and Volkswagen say they don't make them any more even tho I have the code for the adaptor. The locking wheel nuts are ones with three small holes in them. Anyone got any advice on how to get these off without damaging the wheels? VW garage said they would want at least £80 to try to forceably remove them! I've got a new set of alloys waiting to go on and minimum tread on the current tyres - can't get the feckers off!

    Any guidance on what type of soldering iron should you go for and where do you source the plastic from - i'm in the process of smoothing both bumpers just now.
  10. Hi, new lupo owner and forum member here. Couple of questions regarding my lupo - my heater doesn't work when the fan is turned to 2 - any ideas? Also for some reason my headunit loses it's radio preset memory every time I turn the engine off - i've tried two different Sony headunits and neither maintains their memory which is bloody annoying, again any help would be greatly appreciated. Ta
