Philplop
I used Tigerseal on my VX lights.Don't think the indicators split very well.Lamin-X or tint spray is probably a better bet for them.

DK16V
Hi!We have a company here in Denmark who has painted the GTI's headlight inside, they have mine at the moment... It costs around 250£ for this modification...The headlights are glued with the same glue used to mount windows on the car...that's why they won't come apart easily! But they have a special technique (that they won't reveal...have tried) to take them apart They claim you can't see the procedure on the lamp afterwards...I will get mine back next week...i'll let you know how it looks...Meanwhile here's a teaser from one of the modified GTI's...GTI with black headlights Edited April 29, 2010 by DK16V

VW_MANIAC
to do this did you just use like a matt black spray paint yes?Do you have to seal the lens and if so where can I get the sealant? Sorry if it's a stupid questionand does it make the lights noticable dimmer or is it okay?cheers
Thooooom
I used Matt black paint on mine and when I resealed them I just heated them up again and pushed them back together. The recess on the lights is so deep there's enough glue to seal it back up.
jordon123200063
I could possibly need a new headlight still for my GTI, cacking myself at the prospect of paying £600 for one, beyond a joke . And if that doesn't include fitting either.... *gulp* doesnt take that much to fit the headlight
