Philplop Posted January 7, 2010 Report Share Posted January 7, 2010 A lot of the time I prefer non-GTI's.Would be silly to swap the front end though. Front arches would be too narrow compared to the rears, and you'd be resticted on wheels, even standard Bathursts would poke. And obviously it would be heavier. Jowey Posted January 7, 2010 Report Share Posted January 7, 2010 The GTI shell has beefier Sills which run into the beefy front and rear arches.To swap the front end would take a lot more effort than just bolting on some wings and bumperI Standard front would look lovely on a GTI. TomStevo Posted January 12, 2010 Report Share Posted January 12, 2010 easy way to do it is to get a standard bumper modded slightly wider, a good body shop should easily be able to do this, then you keep the lighter and wider gti arches, matched up to the standard bumper, or does where the bumper meets the wings sit in a different place on a gti?
