jgaskham
I've just taken off my throttle body to clean it, put it all back together and it works fine, just i have a strange feeling my gas pedal seems lower than before. 1 Litre Screamer
I have no idea its 2001 arosa sport, what am i looking for to find out?It should be fly by wire so has no throttle cable, it will have an electrical connector and that will be it. is yours like that? jgaskham
Connector sounds right, I had to unplug one from the throttle body.
1 Litre Screamer
Connector sounds right, I had to unplug one from the throttle body. There is no physical connection between the pedal and the throttle body so i would assume your just imagining it. I would say that maybe having the TB adaption redone could make sure but other than that just turn the ignition on (dont start the engine) and leave it on for 2 minutes without touching the throttle pedal. CasperGTI
I thought the cable throttle bodys had a connector on them anyway for the throttle pot?Easy way to work it out, is if there is something that looks like a bike brake cable going to the throttle body in the enigne bay then thats a cable throttle. If its electronic throttle, it will have a bigger electrical connector on it with 6 pins in the plug and no sort of bike brake cable going to it at all.And actually even the electronic throttle pedals have a cable attatched to them. The throttle pedal goes to a cable which then goes to the throttle demand pot behind it. And if you have been near the pedal box it is easy to knock the cable off the runner to the pot.John Edited November 27, 2009 by CasperGTI
99hjhm
I thought the cable throttle bodys had a connector on them anyway for the throttle pot?It does....Easy way to tell if its cable, if you don't know what you are looking at.... Press throttle pedal to the floor with the ignition on, but without engine running, you will hear it click open if the bonnet's up.. Now turn the ignition off, if it's DBW, the butterfly snaps shut with a click.
jgaskham
So if it is a cable one can i adjust it? Could i have done something to make the pedal rest lower? I remember seeing a black thing sticking up under the throttle body, which i gave a wipe cus that was filthy too, could that have done something?
