whatsupwatson
I bought a 99(T) 1.4 s lupo about a week ago and im loving it, such a difference in quality to that of my corsa.I will get some piks up once i get some nice wheels on it and its looking shiny Ive already done almost 500 miles in a week but the red oil light comes on and beeps when i make a hard left turn and it is only a hard left. The previous owner said he changed and flushed the oil just before i bought it, i did how ever notice it was right on the minimum line so i topped it up but still the problem occurs, i am going to give it an oil pressure test some point this week and see what that turns up. i dont know if the oil pump has been changed, i was going to flush it again in case it was a blocked oil gallery but thought id check if anyone one here had an idea or suggestion

99hjhm
As you say, and if unsure..... Give it a oil and filter change. Get some good 10w/40 oil.

CasperGTI
The wire on the oil pressure switch is very thin, so check that out too you might find it's broken slightly?
streetbuggy
Be interesting to hear what you find.I have a similar problem with a recently brought 1.4s. was fine then one day the light starts flashing. I have low oil pressure and an internally colapsed crappy filter. Have had the wiring checked and the oil presure. Had the pick up cleaned, it helped a bit but not enough. Im now half way through changing the oil pump in my garage. Its been a bit of a mission.
